I cannot say anything positive... I had a flight at 6 AM on Saturday, so around 4:00 AM I have check out. A one day earlier I checked if everything is ok with the payment, as my company was paying for the night. The receptionist said that everything is ok.
BTW I was staying there in the night 16-17 December. MESSAGE TO THE HOTEL MANAGER: the tall guy, possibly from the night shift. And here is the story:
In the morning there was a guy in the reception desk. He had been in a sulk for no reason. He printed me the invoice with the room rate and asked me for my credit card. Here is the dialog:
ME: The company paid for the room, I have checked this yesterday.
GUY: No.
ME: Yes, I have confirmed this with the staff yesterday. Check out some notes, or whatever. The room was pre-paid.
GUY: It wasn’t. You need to pay. (comment: he was already very rude with the way he was saying this.).
ME: So it looks like you have some problems with the information flow in this case – could you please check? (comment: he was doing literally nothing…!).
GUY: Next time you can pick the different hotel!
ME: What? You are not the nicest person I have ever seen…
GUY: I do not care. You need to pay. (comment: this is a quote! So I have agreed...)
GUY: I will use this credit card that is in the “system”.
ME: It is not my credit card. Apparently this is the company’s credit card.
GUY: So you should have told me!
ME: How could I know? You should have checked!
GUY: (silence) (silence) (silence).
ME: At least you should say: “I am sorry”.
GUY: There is no reason for me to say “sorry”.
ME: There is: you treated me in the way I didn’t like. I think this was rude.
GUY: I do not think so. (comment: I left without a word).
Well you may say, that I had a bad day. But I do not think so, I think that I was even to delicate. This person was not even trying to solve the problem, he was really demanding for money. Suggestion to stay somewhere else (I gave him no reason to say this!) was totally rude. I felt like a fraudster that he do not want to see again – terrible experience. Additionally I look like a very delicate women (I think ;)), there was no reason… hmm by default to behave like this against me… I am a good customer for every hotel! Eeeeech, does not matter…
Be careful with the shuttle. The shuttle does not belong to Thon! They are very proud of it, but do not count on this! Take a taxi. The shuttle does not even pick you from the hotel. IMHO it is a kind of encouragement to pick Thon over anything else. When you pick it, you won’t resign on the day of our stay, right?
Rooms are quite ugly. The bathroom reminded me the old post-communist hotels that are still alive, experiencing the dying breath. The evacuation map on the room door is titled: Bergen Airport Hotel. It looks like Thon bought some ruin of a building, put Thon logo on the top and voilà!
Avoid if you can. Their service differs from the rest of the hotels in Norway!
