“A relaxing few days..”

We stayed in the villa, which is located 300m away from the main complex & had a lovely stay. The villa has 2 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom with a large patio area out the front. As another review states the kitchen isn't necessary as breakfast is included and there are no supermarkets local which sell food suitable for cooking. The breakfasts are big, with loads of fresh bread, fresh fruit, ham & cheese and choice of fruit juice. The pool is small, but why would you need the pool when the whole ocean sits right on your door step! The beach is lovely and clean and looks amazing. The on site restaurant serves delicious food, with new chef specials everyday..a little on the more expensive side but well worth the extra! Would definitely return!

“Kind of seedy, and cigarette smoke every time you eat”

Yes, the location on the beach is great -- who doesn't love being able to walk barefoot from their room to the ocean?

And yes, the restaurant has good food (the included breakfasts are wonderful). But the restaurant is also a smokers' haven, and not a single bit of it is nonsmoking. Every time we ate there, we were assaulted by smoke. It was awful. Seriously, where do all these smokers come from? I haven't seen anything like it in decades.

The rooms are clean but run down -- lumpy pillows, bathrooms with chipped tiles. And every time you take a shower the bathroom floor puddles.

There is wifi in the rooms, but the office (also smoky) will not print your boarding passes. I was sent to an internet cafe down the street, but their printer was out of ink.

If it weren't on the beach, this would be a $20/night hotel.

“Sand between your toes, sunsets devine, magnificent views, a slice of heaven”

The staff were fabulous! The food was excellent - prices of food and alcohol were fabulous also. The rooms were clean and well serviced. Unlike so many other places we have stayed at, we got such a wonderful feeling of NOT being squeezed for every possible penny, infact, it was quite the opposite.

The rooms met our needs, although not plush at all. The bathrooms let the rooms down somewhat, but were clean.

The resort in general is basic, but basic with all the necessities to make a wonderful family or other holiday.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach! Sand between your toes, sunsets devine, magnificent views, truly a slice of heaven.

These people have got the balance right of price and delivery. Highly recommended for those happy with an excellent 3 star experience.

We had a superb time and should we go back to Langkawi, we will stay here again.

“Great location & excellent value for money!”

We stayed here for 4 nights in the beginning of December 2011. The rooms had plenty of space, we stayed in a family room for 4 of us and we didnt feel cramped at all. The restaurant was very nice, right on the beach with reasonable food/drink prices, as well as an amazing view.

The breakfast was not a buffet breakfast but we certainly never went hungry. You get served a plate of fruit and then a choice of a breakfast from their menu. So it is typical things like Continental Breakfast, American Breakfast etc, but they also had a couple of Malaysian dishes like Nasi Lemak and Roti Cenai. The hotel is at the end of Cenang beach but it is only a short walk to restaurants/markets and so on.

Overall the service was more than what we expected for a hotel in this price range. We all loved the fact that we got to live practically on the beach and the hotel is full of character.

“Fantastic value on Pantai Cenang beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

After reviewing numerous hotels/resorts on various travel websites the Beach Garden resort kept popping up...and for good reason! This place is fantastic value and is within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops along Pantai Cenang beach.

The rooms are a good size, very tastefully decorated in Malaysian handicrafts, and clean. I notice some people have complained about sandy floors...well if you remember to take your shoes off before entering you won't have that problem! Pretty simple really...

The bathrooms are fairly spartan, and our shower didn't have a shower curtain so you had to be a little careful about where the shower head was pointed. Not a big issue though unless you're extremely picky. There's no TV either, but why would you want one :)?

The breakfasts were very good quality and a good size, with options varying from European to American to traditional Malaysian. The bread basket in particular was very large and had a wide selection of different breads to choose from.

We had a couple of very good cocktails on the beach out the front of the resort, while watching the incredible sunset. This was on top of the two complimentary drinks that the resort provided!

In terms of location it is at the northern tip of Pantai Cenang beach, so you're just far enough away from the busy section of the main road to have some peace and quiet, but close enough to be able to easily walk to any of the restaurants either down the road, or along the beach.

Taxis are plentiful between the resort and either Telaga Harbour, the cable car or Kuah Town. There is also a laundry very nearby offering much better rates than if you got it done through the resort (RM4/kg vs RM2 per piece!!). To get there just walk south down the main road about 30m and turn left at the taxi stand onto the little side street. About 20m on your right you'll see a little hut full of clothes! Bargain!

Overall we had a really relaxing stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a laid back time in Langkawi.
