First and foremost we are not golf players, so I am not gonna rate the golf facilities.
The main reason we chose this Mercure were the suroudings.
The hotel itself is solid 3 star Accor property. Although not so modern, it's well maintained. The rooms are spacy, as well as bathrooms.
Hidden gem is the spa area with pool, jaccuzzi and sauna.
What took our four by surprise, was the cleaniness! Two of us work in hotel business, so we are not getting impressed easily, but in this case we were amazed by the job the housekeeping in that hotel. Kudos!
Both check-in and out went smooth, multi-language staff makes it easy.
There are two long walking routes around the hotel area, wonderful for relaxing in the nature.
I don't give maximum because of:
- breakfast - wide choice of products, but served on Sat and Sun only till 10.30? It's not a businness hotel, so later closing of buffet wouldn't do a harm to anybody.
Unfortunately, nobody from the staff came to the tables to inform that they were collecting both food and drinks in the breakfast room (we were sitting in the restaurant). So, exactly at 10.33 when I went to get sth to drink I found NOTHIN' :( Of course, all food was gone too.
3 minutes may impress, but not positively in this case :(
- spa - during our stay was full of children. It was almost impossible to swim or just relax in the water. At some moment we got the impression that Kikuoka became a "family with children" hotel.
- minibars in the rooms - if they are out of order, wouldn't it be better to remove them? The one in our room was just dirty inside and that spoiled a bit the total impression of the room.
Despite these cons, we are willing to come back there.
