We did not sleep at the hotel as we were on a boat. But we moored onto the hotel's pontoon and spent most of the day in the nice shaded open-air restaurant right next to the sea. We visited the rooms, furnished in traditional Dalmatian style and they looked very spacious, comfortable and clean. Had a great lunch of fresh vegetables that we negotiated with the hotel's young chef Dario (forget the menu, talk directly to the chef!). Then we enjoyed more delicious food for dinner. Much recommended!

Situated on the peaceful island of Prvic Luka, this hotel is like a little gem waiting to be discovered. Prvic Luka is strategically positioned between Vodice and Sibenik, two beautiful cities that have a lot to offer, but the island in itself is a perfect place for spending some days away from stress and from traffic, as there are no cars on the island.
With it's stone walls and wooden shutters, hotel Maestral blends perfectly in the island environment. The hotel is simple but very tastefully furnished, IKEA style. One of the special charms of this hotel is the personnel. Everyone is friendly and will make you feel among friends.
Once you get there, you must try the traditional Croatian specialties, the soups, the traditional ham and cheese. You may also enjoy a glass of Croatian wine on the terrace of the hotel, looking at the sea which on a calm day resembles a huge aquarium.
Our experience with hotel Maestral was the best ever. We strongly reccomand this hotel. This is one of the places where we would glady return every year from now on!

Having read all the reviews for this hotel we were so looking forward to our visit and booked in for 3 nights half board. On the first night we were offered the rather dirty, dog-eared menu; we explained we were on the half board option however, Benedikta told us that they really couldn't provide anything for the price so better to choose off the menu. This was curious as I'd booked direct by e-mail with Benedikta. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that Benedikta agreed to take two items off the bill [a pasta and a soup were inedible]. There were two other couples in the restaurant; 2 enjoyed their meal but the other 2 had complaints about the food too. We had to eat in as it was windy and chilly and I must say the inside is pretty depressing - much more could be done to make it attractive. On the other two nights we went to the restaurant at the jetty which was full and very lively, while Val, the hotel restaurant, was empty.
If you have the room at the end overlooking the bay, beware as the staff sit outside the kitchen below and smoke, this comes straight up to the room if you haven't closed the window.
Breakfasts were fine and full marks for the coffee. Perhaps it was end of season fatigue but there was no life or soul to the place; they have a gem with the building and location but need to do something to keep it.

The Island of Prvic is a real escape from the hassles of modern life. A short hop on the ferry from Sibenik, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and warm waters of this beautiful island and sleep in comfort at the Hotel Maestral. Our room on the top floor was enormous and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning (which was absolutely essential) was very effective yet quiet, the shutters were brilliant and we slept like kings in our huge comfortable beds. Benedikta and the staff were all very friendly and helpful and made our stay a real joy. We ate at the hotel on the first evening and went out to a local restaurant on the second and, to be honest, the menus were very similar. Fresh fish, simply cooked was the order of the day and very nice it was too. I want to let people know that this is a great place to stay and yet, selfishly, I want to keep it a secret. We look forward to returning and we hope that it doesn't change.
