Needed a hotel close to Split Airport to catch a flight the following morning and Hotel Adria was booked for me. They try their best to look after their guests and suceed. I asked the receptionist/waitress/barmaid (She worked hard!) about getting to the airport the following morning as I only had 60 Marks, she did not know if it would be enough, but I found the following morning that she had left a note for the receptionist. She rang and found a taxi who would do it for that price, but had aleady said she would drop me off if she could not find one. I appreciated that care.
Food was OK, tasty and edible. I had a seafood Paella, I do not think it was freshly made as the ding of the microwave heralded its arrival. But as I said it tasted fine and I was not on a foody weekend. Rooms were clean and comfortable and I had a large balcony, it was very hot and sitting out there in the evening with a cold beer was very pleasant.
The single room cost approx £40.00 and the food and a couple of beers just over £9.00.
If you opened the patio doors then the sounds of the planes was clear, but all but disappeared with them closed. The room was airconditioned and it was able to take the edge off the heat though it was not powerful enough to get the room cold, if that is what you want. I would recommend it as a good hotel to stop over waiting for a flight.
