“Fabulous & Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

I have just stayed for four nights and was absolutely delighted. From Linda's warm reception coming out to the car late in the evening to help me in to her excellent breakfasts in the morning, I could not have asked for anything more. The quality of finish and cleanliness was perfect with every detail attended to.
It was a cold week, and the huge log burning fire was a delight to sit in front in the evenings. The bedroom was superb and comfortable, again with all the detail just right.
I was on a training course in the area, and being treated as part of the family made the whole experience memorable and enjoyable. Thank you to Tim and Linda for making it happen.

“Very Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We just stayed one night but the room was comfortable and clean and we appreciated to guest lounge with the wood burning stove. Linda and Tim were both very friendly and helpful and we had a delightful breakfast. The property is very close to Bradgate Park so we were able to walk from Horseshoe Cottage into the park. Ceratinly somewhere were we would like to stay again.

“Astonishingly good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Linda and Tim were brilliant hosts and couldn't have done more to help me and the group that stayed at Horseshoe Cottage Farm for the weekend. We were relaxed, warm and comfortable. My room was exceptionally nice and beautifully furnished and appointed.
Linda's cooking is amazing! I managed to put on 21/2lb in the space of three days eating wonderful breakfasts, lunches and dinner... not to mention the cakes and little snacks!
I was part of a group photographing deer in Bradgate Park and so we got up at silly o'clock each morning ... and one morning found a power cut. Linda and Tim were immediately on hand and the whole house was lit with candles within minutes. It was very romantic! Tim even stood at the bottom of the stairs to ensure that the guests didn't miss our footing in the candlelight. The power came back on after about 15 minutes - and I was rather sad! The candles were lovely!
I also loved the beautiful natural soaps that were made available for us... all handmade. In fact, if Linda had sold soap bars I would have bought some of the lavender and tea tree to take home with me.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place

“Truly A Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Stayed almost 2 weeks and became almost a home from home, due to the ever welcoming and untiring hospitality of Linda and Tim. This area was a return to the past as I grew up in a small cottage in Bradgate Park. Linda did everything possible to help me rediscover links, using her local connections. This B & B's terrific location makes it easy to explore Bradgate Country Park, Charnwood Forest and the surrounding villages. Our lovely, spotless room was in a tasteful barn conversion with lots of character, adjoining the main house. There is a private guest sitting room with inglenook fireplace, which provides a quiet place to relax in the evening. Wonderful healthy and delicious breakfasts including fresh farm eggs, fruit and homemade jam. During our stay the B & B was featured by the BBC as a place to stay in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will have no hesitation in booking again. David & Gail, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Room Tip: We stayed in a large room overlooking the courtyard

“Phenomenal place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

We stayed at Horseshoe Cottage Farms and last month for my mom's wedding, and Linda's house was the best of our trip. The house is beautiful with a stunning location across from Bradgate park which is great for walking. The rooms were immaculate and Linda's breakfasts were wonderful. Homemade jam and fresh raspberries. Would highly recommend staying here!
