“Comfortable and attractive”

We booked a room for four at this pleasant two star hotel outside of Angers, and received a large, airy room on two levels. Downstairs had a double bed, bathroom, TV and small refrigerator; upstairs was a sort of loft with two twin beds and its own TV. There was a patio door leading outside, and a remote controlled skylight. There was also an outdoor pool and the two restaurants mentioned by other reviewers. (NOTE: it's best to make reservations if you plan to dine at either of them on a weekend night.)

The place had ample parking; it's also within walking distance of a large supermarket and a wine shop. The city of Angers, with its own shopping and tourism attractions, is just minutes away. And, finally, it had one of the nicest breakfast buffets we'd seen on our trip, for a bit under 10 euros. (A member of our party was fascinated by the orange juice squeezing machine.)

The one problem, which other reviewers have mentioned, is the fact that the hotel's location is inaccurately represented on some maps. My suggestion: follow the map to the industrial zone "Z.I. Croix Cadeau," and you'll see signs directing you to it.

“OK for a stop over but not for longer.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

We arrived expecting a nice hotel with pool. The room was awful; the children's area upstairs was unsafe for small children with a wide open staircase and the room below was small, unattractive and opened onto the carpark. The reception staff spoke no English but eventually moved us to slightly more pleasant room for the night. The swimming pool area and restaurant, though they look nice on the photos, are run down and dilapidated. A very disappointing first night in France. We checked out the next morning and headed for Brissac Quince. The tourist info there found us a much more appealing hotel for much less money. Avoid this hotel unless it is an overnight stop on a longer journey.

“Adequate at best but restaurant was good”

Stopped here on way from Dieppe to Port Bourgenay
Rooms basic & public areas in need of good refurbishment
Booked through Logis website but the hotel did not have our details when we arrived
Fortunate to get last family room. Room OK bed & camp bed downstairs , double bed on mezzannine up open wooden staircase .
Very good value 60Euro for the room
We ate at Bistro Grill restaurant which had large windows & terrace onto childrens paly area which was good for parents / children. Food OK ( a bit slow because they lost our order )
Breakfast was good ( fresh orange juice machine very popular with 4 year old )
Didnt use the pool
We visited Angers the next day which was good before driving south

“Very family friendly hotel, close to Angers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2009

Excellent for staying with young children! It seemed to be a popular half way stop off point for the french travelling across the country and was perfect for us with our young children doing the same thing.
The family room was a split level allowing us to put the kids to bed and still read/watch tv in our bedroom below.
The pool (unheated) was lovely & the whole pool area delightful on a hot day.
One fantastic aspect for us was the onsite bistro. The food was perfectly fine - pizzas etc but the best thing with kids is the safe playground just outside the large picture windows of the restaurant. Ours & every other child in the place spent the evening, when not actually eating, outside playing, allowing the adults to enjoy the meal & wine! The kids had a ball making friends from all over France!
Whilst not in Angers, it was close enough for us to spend a day there .
