“Very good value for money - Wont let you down!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

Were visitng this place for the 2nd time. The first time a few years ago. The rooms were spacious and clean. Both had balconies looking over the pool and bay. Beds very comfortbale and hotel very quite so slept well. Breakfast a bit boring after 7 days as always the same thing. Lunch good choice of pasta, sandwishes etc. All presented nicely and of high quality. Service throughout hotel very friendly and helpful. Pool very clean. Big negative - not enough shade options around the pool. No umbrellas - management says due to wind but only had one windy day. Overal we felt we got our moneys worth and had a wonderul time. Would go back.

Dear Ms. Hellbraun,

we apologize for replying your nice review so late. We hope to see you soon here in our hotel, this year by 31st of October or next year.
Please note we improved the breakfast and fixed the lack of umbrellas in our swimming pool. This latter point is unfortunately still a problem when there is a lot of wind, but overall is ok.

Thank you again for staying with us.

Best regards

“Superb staff!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

It is the helpful staff that set this hotel aprt from other 4* hotels. The hotel has fantastic views down to the marina. Pool area is clean with comfortable sunbeds. Would recommend a sea view room to really appreciate the location.
Luca the friendly barman is just one example of how the staff set out to make your staff here hassle free & enjoyable. In addition to his service with a smile he also acted as our local tour rep for the week recommending great beaches, fantastic restaurants & beautiful local villages. Try his uncles wine with the complimentary bruschetta.
The hotel is located on the SP59 as you leave Porto Cervo heading to Liscia di Vacca. You can walk to the marina (10 mins) but you really need to drive or get a taxi to the centre of Porto Cervo.
Local restaurants to recommend are Spinnaker. Fantastic food and ok prices. You need to book & in high season Luca (the barman) suggests you need to book 2 weeks ahead. Suggest you e-mail the hotel to sort this out for you.
Clipper is also within walking distance & again great food.
That man Luca also recommended San Lorenzo a Sardinian restaurant on the road to Arzachena (15 mins drive from the hotel if the roads are quiet). Great local food albeit suggest you take a phrase book as no one can speak English.
If you want a simple & inexpensive option then Dante is a good option on the road to Abbiadori & is open all day.
Cala di Volpe has some stunning albeit small beaches. We visited the following & would recommend any. Liscia Ruia, Romazzino & Rena Bianci. For the beach parking tends to be a 5-10mins walk away from the beach with access down dirt tracks. However, well worth the walk!!
Breakfast was plentiful albeit a litte repetitive.
San Pantelao (may have got spelling wrong) is a charming local village which has a small market on a Thursday. Take the road to Arzachena then take a left turning to San Pantelao.

“OK priced for Sardinia but not very comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2009

Interior clearly dated, like most establishments in Porto Cervo. Not so comfortable beds and antique airco that barely lowered the temperature inside. Last night it gave in completely and stopped working completely.

Friendly staff and very good breakfast.

Dear Guest,

we thank you for your review and we apologize for the late reply. Please note our establishment is refurbished every year, by the way the external structure and the interiors have a particular style that make them seem older. From 2009 we made several refurbishments, including the complete new design of the swimming pool area.
The aircon. device is a bit old but works fine normally, moreover Costa Smeralda is fortunately always refreshed with a bit of wind, which makes the days not sultry.

“beautiful, and affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

this hotel has everything you need! a beautiful view, friendly service, a relaxing ambiance, and it is very affordable. It is not right at the port, so a little driving is needed to get around, but it is a fantastic place to stay!

“Make sure you get a seaview”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2009

Hotel has a great location and pool but make sure you book a sea view room. The other rooms are small, have no windows or overlook the staff smoking area. Our room was also noisy and the air-conditioning did not work. The staff treated us like second rate guests. The breakfast was no more than average.
