We stayed at this hotel which is on the outskirts of Porto Cervo from 9th - 14th September 2011. The hotel was in the Liscia di Vacca district which is on the hillside with a few shops and restaurants near by. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was quite small and quite basic, however it was clean and sound proof. It had a large balcony which overlooked the pool and gardens which we used for relaxing. The hotel pool and bar were both great and the barman made some fantastic mojitos. As the hotel is situated on a hill you need a car to get to the beaches and to visit the rather bland, expensive and soulless Porto Cervo. We have been to both Cannes and Monte Carlo and found both of of these ports/centres far more vibrant and welcoming then Porto Cervo. In my opinon the place lacked any charm and atmosphere and the bars and restaurants had no vibe to them. I accept that we went out of season but this aside the quality and attraction to eateries and bars should stay remain. We visited Baia Sardinia both in the day and in the night and found this place far superior to Porto Cervo.
We ate in two restaurants in Liscia Di Vacca the Aruana Churrascaria ( Brazillian themed ) which was very good and Mataam which was Italian (right opposite the Balocco) which was provided us with beautifully seasoned dishes. Would recommend visiting Sardinia and using this hotel as a base to explore other towns such as Baia Sardinia, Porto Rotondo, Golfo Aranchi, Palau and Santa Teresa. The beaches are worth exploring too as there are lots in the Costa Smeralda area and they all seemed to be clean and the water is very clear!!
