Sheila and I returned for the sixth time, we would love to stay more often, it is so relaxing, we stayed 13 days on this occasion and had a wonderful time just unwinding, we celebbrated Pascalle's birhday in fine style, all tension and stress had gone by the time we continued our trip, it is wonderful that they had not moved, I expect to return for many more amazing breaks with such wonderful hosts Pasdcalle and Serge.

“Our third stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

My wife and I love this place and this June we came back for the third time. We're cyclists, so we love the area for the beautiful rides along the Loire and out into the countryside to the south, for example, to Crissay sur Manse or Thilouze. I won't mention all the famous chateaux because they're so close. If it rains, we visit them. Otherwise we ride.
After a long ride the swimming pool, right outside the door, is a fine thing, and so is the recreation/room (for lack of a better description) that Pascale and Serge maintain across from the pool for the convenience of their guests. It has dining tables, a full kitchen with microwave, oven, and fridge, and is a very satisfactory place to cook up a frozen pizza or something else from the Super-U and have a glass of wine in the evening. Sometimes this is just easier than going out to a restaurant for dinner, and we are lazy.
The B&B itself is as nice as any we've stayed in (12 trips to France) and much nicer than most. You will relax in quiet in this clean, beautiful setting and congratulate yourself for choosing it. The hosts are a fine couple. Both speak English, and Pascale speaks everything else as well. This year we had an emergency we needed local help with, and Pascale pitched in and solved all our problems in an afternoon. We'd have been in very bad shape without her.
So, to sum it up, a wonderful place in the country just a few miles south of Tours; fine hosts who have given careful thought to your comfort and happiness. What's not to like? I just can't say enough good things about La Tourainiere and its owners. We'll go back every time we're in the area.

La Tourainiere is a beautiful house in spacious gardens just outside Monts. The accommodation is excellent, the hospitality exceptional. If you're looking for a base from which to explore the Loire Valley you won't find anywhere better.

“Rural Chic Gite with the Personal Touch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2011

Perfect escape for days of R&R, evenings of gastronomic adventure, or a stop en route elsewhere... Car essential, set in mid Loire Tourain area - ideal to rest, visit Chateaux, Vineyards, bike or rambling excursions. Book early - choose from the 3 rooms - each accesses the pool, terrace and gardens. Pascale and Serge's personal non intrusive help with where to eat, where to visit invaluable to maximise enjoyment. Breakfast a daily delight - farm fresh eggs, home made jams, great bread, and alternating croissant, pain au chocolat or brioche. Visitors' kitchen and common room in separate barn ideal for self catering options, but do follow dining suggestions like L'Aigle d'Or in Azay le Rideau. Rooms are to a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. Pascale's spaniel dog is very friendly and well behaved - if that may freak you, don't go. La Tourainiere combines the best of self catering and a personal boutique hotel in a gorgeous setting - the care and quality contributed by Pascale and Serge add to the inherent pleasures of the Gite and the area. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Just email or talk with Pascale in advance...

“hidden treasure”

Our first time in a gite, stayed for 3 nights. A little off the beaten track ( which suited us). Clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable, with wonderful bathroom. Large garden and very welcome swimming pool, loungers, etc. Large communal guest room with good facilities for cooking, eating, etc.
Pascale and Serge extremely hospitable hosts, providing plenty of information about the area and things to do, recommending and booking restaurants for guests. Breakfasts more than sufficient, with lovely home made preserves.
