We stayed four nights in a room with private bathroom; We've never stayed in a room with shared bathroom, but I would consider it if we returned to BB 44 Guesthouse. Everything was comfortable, relaxed, and clean always. Our hosts were helpful beyond what one might expect. The primary bus stop - multiple routes 1, 2, 4, 35 -- was an easy 5 or 10-minute walk. I didn't realize until the last day that the #35 bus goes out and around the peninsula a bit closer to BB 44. The difference in walking and waiting times were similar. The trip into downtown Rekyjavik takes less than 15 minutes. Near the primary bus stop Hamraborg was a shopping area which included our favorite restaurant (Thai) and a couple of others. BB 44 has a shared kitchen area available if you wish to prepare food or just store supplies in the refrigerator. All guests have access to a hot tub and sauna. Breakfast is optional ($), but I highly recommend it. Innkeeper Sigga can arrange tours, rental car, phone SIM, bus passes, etc. Just ask and she makes a visit to Iceland very easy for you! any of the guests during our stay had stayed at BB 44 previously. I can understand why, or perhaps why stay anywhere else when in the Greater Reykjavik area.
