My husband and I visited Goa primarily to visit the dentist in Margao. My husband chose Bogmalo Beach because of its proximity to the airport and the Raj Resorts because of the helpful advice and emails he received from Vivek, the owner.
Well, we certainly hit the jackpot. Vivek and his staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and our smallest request was granted immediately. Raj Resorts is a 10 minute walk from Bogmalo Beach, which is a quiet beautiful beach, quite unlike the crowded, manic beaches and shopping strips to the north of Goa. Most days we walked down to the beach in the morning, spent time there, had lunch in one of the many quiet beachside restaurants then returned to the Resort for a siesta, drinks on our spacious terrace before heading back down to the beach for a stroll around the many small shops before dinner. Breakfast was provided every day and we enjoyed trying a different meal every day, expertly cooked and smilingly served. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large private bathroom and a huge terrace where we sat most evenings on our return from dinner surveying the ever-changing scene below us of villagers, cows and dogs moving up and down in a leisurely manner. The Airport and Airforce Base were fairly close but there was not a lot of aircraft noise and it didn't worry us. Our sheets and towels were changed every day and our room was always spotlessly clean. Vivek quickly arranged a driver for us on the days we travelled to the dentist or on signseeing trips to see the rest of Goa. The weather was perfect every day, hot days and cool nights and no rain.
We would certainly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet, friendly, clean place to enjoy a delightful break in Goa.

hello every one -raj resort in bagmola beach is one of the best resort in goa according to my knowledge. i have visited most of the resorts in goa but this resort provides the very best and homely treatment to every visitor, pool was very neat, food quality was the best. i personally recommend it to every one who wants to make their holiday a memorable one.
And u need to meet Vivek who is owner of the resort whoc is extremely gud human being and also if u need to explore goa his advise is most important.

Location, location, location! My partner and I were looking to spend some quality time together in a serene, quiet and friendly environment. We found the simplicity, genuine hospitality of the owners and staff at Raj resorts, the home-stay like feel of the place and the opportunity to experience some of the Goan culture to be perfect for our vacation.

We had the deluxe room with the terrace attached on which we got quite a deal. It was a clean, bright and well ventilated room (cleaned daily by the staff). We really enjoyed the beautiful mornings on the private terrace with a hot cup of coffee and good conversation. It is a quiet and serene area with lots of space, and hardly any traffic. There is a the Naval base close by so I do recall the airplanes taking off on occasion; but overall it is a very uncrowded and peaceful area. Bogmalo beach is a 10 minute walk if you take the straight path, and if you take the long road it winds through the houses of the locals living in the area and you're likely to see kids playing, people washing their motor bikes and just life happening. Bogmalo beach and some of the beaches down south like Majorda were our favorites. They were quite, clean, not very crowded and had a mix of tourists and local folks. Bogmalo has great restaurants (John's Shack), and nice little shops, all the same things you would find in other places like Candolim, Calangute and so forth, but in a more quaint and charming setting minus the crowds and the noise.

Our hosts at Raj resorts were very hospitable and attentive. The first thing I wanted to do upon arrival was get online and this was promptly taken care of by Neelima. I genuinely felt our hosts at Raj Resorts really wanted us to enjoy our vacation and Goa. John, Ronnie and Anjali always served up great vegetarian breakfasts and we even enjoyed some local Goan desserts (Dodol). Vivek has been in this area for over 20 years, and is a great resource for just about anything you may want to do. Whatever your interests and your time constraints, Vivek will probably be able to recommend activities and areas that meet the contraints and fit your interests.

If you're looking for a quiet, laid back sort of vacation, and the personalized attention of a small family owned resort, I would highly recomment Raj Resorts.

Raj Resorts is an ideal,authentically Goan, guesthouse which provides peace & quiet whilst having easily accessible attractions available.
The accomodations are roomy, light & airy. There are en-suite wet rooms,daily housekeeping & we had a lovely balcony also.
Vivek, "mine host" & his Staff seem to work 24/7 to make sure all the guests are made to feel personally appreciated as witnessed by their multi linguilism, & attention.
Breakfasts and other meals are taken in a covered area with cereals plus cooked meals available & much enjoyed.
Access to the nearby beach is a 15 minute downhill stroll ,with the return journey by local bus,an experience of its own!
We visited a Saturday night market , the 2nd highest waterfall in Goa & a Spice Plantation all arranged by Vivek during our stay,besides taking the local bus to Vasco de Gama (see Above +++)
The weather was 35-40oC so we would spend the morning on the beach,take a siesta @ the Raj in the afternoon & walk down into Bogmalo to eat in the beachside restuarants in the evening.
They even have the IPL Cricket 20/20 on the in room TV, power cuts permitting.
