“lovely B & B, and absolutely wonderful lady.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful B & B last weekend and couldn't ask for anything better if we had stayed in any hotel! Celine is so warm & welcoming, and the room has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, especially Celine's home-made brown bread. We definitely would recommend this B & B to anyone wanting to stay around the Salthill area.... We WILL be back!!!!!

Stayed in Marian lodge this weekend, really lovely place to stay in Salthill so close to Galway City. The host Celine was brilliant and we had a gorgeous cooked breakfast with home made brown bread. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to my friends and family.

“Great service, far from Galway city center (40 min walk), not the cleanest”

There is no doubt that Celine was maybe one of the nicest hostess we have had a chance to encounter in Ireland, unfortunately we had what I hope could have been an isolated mishap.... My sister and I (both over 25) were having with our parents a family trip through Ireland like the old times and booked at the Marian Lodge a room with 2 double beds. The location is undoubtedly far from Galway city center (especially if you don't have a car...) but we wanted to be in Salthill to enjoy the nearby show at the Salthill Hotel called "Trad on the Prom"- worth your while!! The mishap was that we found out too late in the day that there were only 2 towels in the bathroom (one of them smelled dirty) so either they were missing to begin with or were, as Celine explained, "taken" by other fellow guests.... don't know why they would need to take our towels?!? Aside from our late night ordeal and sense of uncleanliness from the dirty towel, we had a good time and recommend the place, all in all, for singles, couples or families with cars or willingness to walk a bit into town.

“Great rooms, lovely hostess and a location with plenty of charm.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

Staying at Marian Lodge was a great decision. The rooms were exceptionally cozy, spacious and comfortable. Celine was a gem of a hostess, serving a wonderful breakfast and providing plenty of charm and good conversation. She was able to give us great advice regarding what to see in Galway and she directly sold us Aran Island ferry tickets, which was very convenient as well. If we hadn’t stayed at Marian Lodge, we would have likely missed Salt Hill (and O’Connors - one of the best pubs we found in Western Ireland). Being on the edge of town was surprisingly great and the walk along the prom was a charming part of the Galway/Salt Hill experience. If we went back to Galway, we wouldn’t hesitate before choosing Marian Lodge again.
