We traveled around Great Britain for 3 weeks and this was the worst B&B that we stayed at. First of all, it was nearly impossible to find even with directions. The sign on the main road is completely knocked over and the sign on the actual house is tiny. We called about an hour before arrival to get the directions and tell them that we were on our way and even after all that, they didn't answer the door when we arrived. We knocked and rang the bell numerous times at which point my husband had to go around the back of the house to find them. They gave us the old "we can't hear the bell" back here, which may be true, but they knew we were coming so either stay up in the front of the house where you can hear the bell or leave a note on the door. It was ridiculous. Right from the get-go, we felt like unwelcome house guests.
The accommodations were rudimentary. The room itself was of average size, but it wasn't clean - lamps, bed, etc. were covered in cobwebs. We weren't given a tour and all the doors from the entryway were closed so it appeared that there weren't any common rooms. They didn't have any maps, restaurant guides or tourist information for the area. 8:30 – 9:30 breakfast only which I think is a pretty short window considering it is a B&B. When we did come down for breakfast at 9:20, they were utterly unprepared. No milk, sugar, jelly or condiments were set out. Half the stuff was missing and only brought out after we asked for it. Finally, we don't mind animals, but I don't want all of my clothes and personal items covered in dog hair - it was everywhere.
The only reason we gave this 2 balls instead of 1 is because it was inexpensive.
