We stayed in this hotel for a weekend about 2 weeks ago and it was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. We stayed in one of the rooms in the tower section of the hotel, as it used to be an Arab Fortress, and it was the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a lot of hotels! Our hotel room had a fantastic 2 poster bed which was extremely comfortable with beautiful bed clothing and nice castle-like decorations above the bed. The walls were the original castle walls and our window/balcony used to be the original entrance to the castle. The room was very contemporary and modern for such an old building and we had an ajoined huge bathroom which was also very nice. There was also very nice touches in the room such as chocolates and scrolls left on our bed each day and an old style candle and matches left on the steps down to the balcony. Overall, the room is an ideal romantic location for couples seeking a quiet weekend away and also very cosy, clean and comfortable.
The hotel restaurant was also very nice, the food was reasonable priced for dinner and the breakfast in the mornings was absolutely delicious. Had the best scrambled egg and toast ever at this hotel and my boyfriend had the best lamb at dinner. The staff were also really nice and helpful and even though the first morning we were unable to make breakfast due to being exhausted from traveling the staff, we ate at the bar/cafe and the staff present counted it as our breakfast not charging us, which we both thought was very nice.
There are also beautiful walks on the ramparts of the castle, you can ask the reception for the key, as well as beautiful long walks around the town walls by the water/aqueduct. This is a beautiful romantic place to go and I highly recommend this hotel as I have stayed in far more expensive places which I didn't enjoy as much.
