Stayed here for 2 nights with parents and my wife and baby daughter. Location is beautiful (Achterhoek area in Netherlands), and very suitable for nice bicycle rides (though beware some cycle routes include roads accessible to automobiles as well!).
Main hotel building is nice, and accommodations (in 2 separate buildings) are in line with 3-star hotel standards: decent, clean, no frills. Likewise for food in hotel restaurant: buffet style (so gets tedious after 2 days I'd imagine), but special requests are frowned upon by staff: not willing to serve a fried egg with breakfast, request for ice cream for desert instead of desert from buffet was granted, but accompanied by statement that this was an exceptional gesture on their part (...), even though they had only 2 flavors (vanilla and strawberry; no chocolate!). Long story short: staff's response to simple, not-outlandish requests like these (which don't cost much to meet) makes them look like customer-unfriendly, primitive amateurs. Another example: my wife had to leave the hotel at 07:00 on Saturday morning for a business trip... but breakfast only starts at 08:00 (!) on Saturdays. Before our arrival, her secretary had contacted them to kindly request a solution, but this was...turned down.
Worst part of stay was second (Friday) night: at 21:30, a live band started playing LOUD music close to the hotel... turned out there was a garden party at one of the residential houses behind the hotel. Since my wife needed to get up at 06:00 next morning (see above), I called reception to ask how long this would last - they said until 1 AM, adding "all guests had been notified in advance". My reply that we had not been informed (nor had my parents, or many other guests we spoke with the next morning) was countered with a stern 'then we apologize, but there's nothing we can do". In fairness, I heard that after a large number of guest complaints, they finally asked the neighbors to 'turn down the volume'. Doesn't change the fact that their preparation for and initial response to this situation was grossly inadequate, and reflective of an amateur staff badly in need of serious hospitality training.
Final note: don't bring little children - there's little/nothing to do for them (no pool, no playground etc.), and they won't encounter many other kids (I'd guess avg guest age was around 50, no disrespect).
Conclusion: loved the location/area, but would not stay at this hotel again.
