“Not so perfect...”

Big post-communism hotel. The biggest advantage is it's location and absolutely stunning spa, probably one of the best in Poland. Rooms are small but lately refurbished old. Bathroom is still with no charm only with basic and rather cheap equipment. The sea can be admired only from the glass lobby and huge unpleasant, but not from the rooms. This hotel is nice to stay, but it's to pricey for the standard.
The best part of this place is absolutely wonderful spa. Very modern, beautiful with huge windows overlooking the sea. Service is very good and I highly recommend to visit the spa.

“Pls Read To Avoid Disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2009

With my husband we were about to spend a week in this hotel ; however because of bad service we decided to check out after 3 days and to move to Grand Hotel Sopot.

The hotel itself is quite an old one (as for the architecture) and probably still remembers the communist times. However the location is very very nice.
We took the apartament with the sea view (as far as I am aware only the apartaments have the sea view). We paid approx. 800 pln (which is approx. 200 Euro) per night, and the room only had a part sea view .

We arrived at the hotel quite late (around 9.30 pm) and had to wait approx. 15 min for the opportunity to check in (as the lady in the reception was all the time on the phone; however saw us waiting). After we checked in, we asked if we could eat sth in the hotel's restaurant. And then the receptionist with a smile on her face told us that the restaurant is closed for 5 minutes already !!! After we told the lady, that if it wasn't her talking so long on the phone we still could have ordered sth, she finally arranged a few sandwiches for us.

The breakfast next day was another disappointment. The selection of food wasn't impressive. It was also hard to ask for any waiter, as all of them were only focused on the hotel owners (who were eating breakfast as well).

The impressive thing about this hotel (except for the views and the location) is the SPA, with amazing treatments and staff from Bali.
However, one day also the SPA disappointed us. I have booked a Balinese massage, and when I came it showed that instead of a Thai lady, a Polish guy was waiting for me. At the beginning I thought that I entered the wrong room, but the guy told me that the wife of the hotel's owner requested the Thai lady to make her the massage. Of course none from the SPA informed me about it beforehand (e.g. in order to offer another date for the massage).

Anyhow -- the hotel pretends to be a luxury one -- but it is more like 3 star one.

We have been told that the reason why the hotel is so popular - is because of Polish celebrities that show up there during the summer time (probably because they are offered a free stay by the owners-- as we were told).

“Location... and nothing else!”

This place is a scam because it is build on a dune, in forbidden location. OK, that is a plus. Apart from that you may expect: very high prices, only prepaid packages, very worn out rooms: clogged, with thin doors, ridiculous tv. Clean bathrooms.
They have three buildings I guess but the only one to care is 'Muszelka' that for Summer months is booked for 'friends' of the establishment.
Ah, food is rather good. Romantic breakfast on the terrace, and very funny all-you-can-eat dinner. With a few exceptions the chef rocks.
Reception is a joke, bar is ridiculous and extremely expensive.
If you want to feel like a polish VIP you may book Bryza and see the anxious faces around Jurata.

“One of the best hotels on the Hel peninsula”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2008

This is one of the highest standard hotels you'll find on the Baltic coast in Poland. The facility is clean, well maintained, has a good availability of services and is on an excellent piece of sandy beach. It is quite private and secluded with good facilities for families and couples. If you have trouble with stairs be sure to get a lower floor room as there are no elevators and the hotel has up to 4 floors. Food is about average at the hotel but there are a number of other places to eat close to the hotel that are a lot more reasonably priced.

There are tennis courts but you need to bring your own equipment. As well, the hotel offers very well protected parking lot. Pay attention to signs as it is a little off the main road on the peninsula and you could miss it. If you're planning to go into Gdansk, keep in mind it's about an hour drive and could be longer if it's the weekend, when half the country goes to the beach.

In international standards I would rate this hotel a 3-4 star depending on what you're used to. It is a little expensive for polish standards but still a great facility for a romantic getaway.

“This is a great place for Rest and Relaxation.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2007

I was looking for a nice relaxing place to de-stress for a few days and this worked out really well. The location is the one of the high points being right on the beach which is very clean. It seems that Poland has not yet become commercialised so it is an ideal place for peace and quiet.
The other high point is the spa which seems to be newly refurbished. It has beautiful bright treatment rooms overllooking the sea views and woodland. My treatment was really very good, but the only criticism here is that a 2 hour treatment lasts only 1 3/4 hours. Apparantly the fifteen minutes is cleaning up time for the therapist - all well and good but don't sell it as 2 hours, it leaves you feeling short changed!! It is a beautiful place to have a steam or swim though and generally lounge around.
The hotel food is acceptable but nothing special. breakfast has a generous buffet though.
Overall the staff are very pleasant and professional. The Jurata area doesn't have much in the way of restaurants but nearby Hel has a few with simple fresh fish at very reasonable prices. They all seem to close very early at this time of year 6.30 -7pm so a good idea to eat early.
