It's been the second time I've been there, I just had to go back!
The owners, Gilberte and Jean-Marc are both very kind and helpful.
I stayed both in a kitchen suite and what they call the great big suite, the later being less modern but still very clean.
Both had awesome views of the St-Lawrence river, exceptional amounts of equipment included (you really feel like you've got everything you need to stay and live there!) and were very very roomy.
Only gripe is that neither had a DVD player but they offer free wi-fi access which is very nice.
The owners were also very nice and offered to light up a fire outside just for us, we had great marshmallows there!
While there's not much to do in L'islet-sur-mer it's close to the nice village of St-Jean-Port-Joli which has quite a few restaurants and boutiques to visit as well as museums and golf courts.
I am told this is a great spot for haunting in autumn (very popular) and in winter it makes for a great resort during a snowmobile trip too, but honestly I found this quiet place (only 1 hour away from Quebec city and it's international airport) to be a great weekend getaway to relax and hear the sound of water and, as the name of the hotel says, watch the tides!
