The Marc Aurel is located near the Danube river between the Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Ingolstadt (tripadvisor admin please note: zip code and street in the address is correct; town and federal state is wrong. Should be Bad Goegging, Bavaria).

This 4* hotel is a fairly large complex in the center of town, complete with wellness area, a very large outdoor pool and a 9 hole golf course & driving range. Apart of the hotel restaurant, an Italian and a Chinese restaurant are nearby. There is also a large conference center, making this venue popular for corporate and private functions.

Due to the Roman theme, everything is decorated in an Italian sort of fashion with dominant sandstone tiling and statues all around (If you want a typical Bavarian hotel, the 'Eisvogel' in the same town would be a better choice).

Rooms are quite spacious but can get quite hot since there is no aircon in the rooms.

WiFi was offered (with Euro 17 for 24h quite pricy) but login page of the provider was not accessible, despite a fairly strong signal. I returned the voucher with the login details and reception did not make any fuzz in cancelling the charge from my hotel bill.

All in all, quite a professionally run location in a nice part of Germany.
