We stayed from Monday till wednesday in the hotel and it being midweek it was not busy. The hotel is located next to the river Maas, a very scenic location and ideal for walkers. The walking path takes you to Namur which is about 7 km away. The hotel is easy reachable by taxi, one way 18 euro or with the bus line 4 which has a stop in front of the hotel (1.60 euro one way).
The rooms are comfortable and big enough, but do not include a fridge/minibar. The standard rooms include one fixed double bed and one double pull away bed.
Breakfast was included for us and was good on the Tuesday but far lower in quality on the Wednesday. The hotel predominently attracts business travellers and congresses so with it being so busy at breakfast they had run out of items and did not refill even after asking because they had run out.
The breakfast is continental offers a vast bread selection, Danish, cereals, eggs and bacon and cheese/ham, fruits and yoghurt. The big plus at breakfast is the fantastic coffee machine that serves everything from regular coffee to hot chocolate, capuccinos etc.
The hotel is quiet and ideal for a break if you wish to relax. It has spa facilities in form of an indoor/outdoor pool which was freezing (indoor) and you could not stay in it for longer than 10 minutes, a sauna and a salon. The salon is closed on Sunday and Monday, they do offer a great variety of treatments and prices are relatively cheap. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening as Namur offers a wide variety of restaurants to dine out to. I would recommend you do this.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. Certainly at reception they are very helpful.
Next to the hotel is a Carrefour, big supermarket in case you would need anything and an excellent chip shop (Belgian Frites) which is called Maxi Frites which is very good.
We enjoyed our stay there and came mainly to relax and walk which the hotel is ideal for. I agree it could do with refurbishment, but feel I could not complain about the price paid, it was value for money.
