During the Autumn of 2006 me and my gorgeous girlfriend were travelling around Italy and we stayed 4nights at Camp Valdeiva during our stay along the Cinque Terra.
The Cinque Terra is the most beautiful place, a stretch of gorgeous mountainous coastline with 5 little towns dotted on the edges of the cliffs, all linked by scenic walking roots...some harder than others!
We chose Deiva Marina because it was nearby and cheap, what we didnt realise just how wonderful a campsite it is! No dodgy little tents or cabins here, but actually mini chalets with large double bedrooms, kitchenette with dining area, and a separate toilet/shower room, and all for such a tiny price! And the staff are so friendly and helpful, all of whom speak really good if not perfect English.
The little town of Deiva isnt much to look at, a few nice little restaurants and shops and it has a pebbly beach. The campsite provides a continuous and free shuttle bus between the town/railway station and the campsite which is SOOOO conveniant!
Devia is only a few minutes train ride from the first of the five 'Cinque Terra' towns and its just as easy to use the train to get to the other four towns....especially if u have an Interrail card, u can just hop on and off any train u want!!!
Our 4 nights were some of the best we had in Italy and there isnt a better place to stay on a budget than Deiva Marina campsite!
