“nice camping for visiting the Cinque terre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

On our roadtrip in september 2011 we also wanted to visit the Cinque terre and were trying to find a mobilhome to stay some nights in. Third camping we tried was Valdeiva and we were happy to hear we could stay at a chalet (2 nights, but 3 would also have been possible, which is good as some campings only want te rent out for at least 3 days or a week even) To our surprise this proved to be quiet big (5 pers.) At 80 euro's a night we decided to take it, since we allready learned that it's not that easy to find something. We were very glad we did! Had a great stay at Valdeiva, the chalet was fun to stay at, lovely views, nice big veranda. Very friendly staff who gave us loads of information, free bus service to the station (and beach) 3 km away. In the afternoon you only have to call and within 5 min the bus arrives to pick you up. I can only comment on renting a chalet at this campingsite but for doing so it would certainly recommend it. Things got a bit damp in the evening due to the surrounding tree's and hills, so it was difficult to dry the towels, but all in all a very relaxing stay and we had a great time visiting this camping.

“Busy with some poor facilities”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

We stayed here for two nights in August (the last weekend of the holidays) in a campervan. We found it busy and not a particularly attractive site. The line of chalets through which we had to drive to get to our pitch was reminiscent of a shanty town and the toilet block that we were near was really poor. The toilet cubicle was probably the smallest I've ever come across - you had to sit slightly sideways because the door closed so close to your knees. The shower cubicle was just as small with nowhere in it to keep anything dry. I'd expect a lot better for 37 euros a night.

On the plus side the staff were very freindly and knowledgeable, freely giving advice on sight-seeing around the Cinque Terre. There is also a free bus service to and from the campsite to the railway station. I wouldn't stay here again but to be fair seeing some of the other campsites in the vicinity it probably compares favourably, and the benefits of being so close to the Cinque Terre outweigh the relatively poor camping facilities.

“Perfect Campsite for a perfect week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2008

During the Autumn of 2006 me and my gorgeous girlfriend were travelling around Italy and we stayed 4nights at Camp Valdeiva during our stay along the Cinque Terra.

The Cinque Terra is the most beautiful place, a stretch of gorgeous mountainous coastline with 5 little towns dotted on the edges of the cliffs, all linked by scenic walking roots...some harder than others!

We chose Deiva Marina because it was nearby and cheap, what we didnt realise just how wonderful a campsite it is! No dodgy little tents or cabins here, but actually mini chalets with large double bedrooms, kitchenette with dining area, and a separate toilet/shower room, and all for such a tiny price! And the staff are so friendly and helpful, all of whom speak really good if not perfect English.

The little town of Deiva isnt much to look at, a few nice little restaurants and shops and it has a pebbly beach. The campsite provides a continuous and free shuttle bus between the town/railway station and the campsite which is SOOOO conveniant!

Devia is only a few minutes train ride from the first of the five 'Cinque Terra' towns and its just as easy to use the train to get to the other four towns....especially if u have an Interrail card, u can just hop on and off any train u want!!!

Our 4 nights were some of the best we had in Italy and there isnt a better place to stay on a budget than Deiva Marina campsite!

“Lovely Stay @ Camping Valdeiva”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2006

We were only supposed to stay here for 3 nights but with the great nightly rate and free parking, we decided to extend it an extra 2 nights. The camp site was 5-10 minutes away from the train station which we took to get to any one of the CT towns. Deiva Marina also has it's own beach which was nice and quiet.
Our room had a double bed AND a bunk bed. It's own washroom facility with an enclosed shower (which is a bonus in Italy) and a little kitchenette. All the amenities one could ask for. The staff were super friendly. They spoke English and German from what I overheard. The campsite was also nice and QUIET. Coming from Venice where we were awoken at 5:30am everymorning, this was definately a blessing. Would definately recommend this place to anyone and would want to stay here again.
