Le Chateau de Vaulage was a random selection due to its proximity to Le Mans and the Sarthe valley. We were not sure if it would be too "stuffy" for a 12 year old boy but instead found the welcome to be down to earth, friendly and most accommodating. Micol and Marisa went to great lengths to meet our requests and to serve excellent breakfast, dinner and we also enjoyed champagne and snacks whenever we asked.
The Chateau itself is testament to the effort and pride they have in their place and is a great base from which to explore the region. Cannot praise them enough. Thanks Micol!

My husband and I were in France for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We wanted to stay somewhere with a bit more charm than the hotel we had stayed in previously. What a wonderful find this chateau was!

Micol and Marissa were fabulous hosts. Breakfasts in the dining room were delightful and our one dinner at the chateau was superb. Our room was spacious and comfortable and our bathroom was unexpectedly elegant, complete with bidet! (The only one we encountered during our 3 weeks in France this year.)

The chateau sits on a sizeable piece of property out in the countryside and yet it was an easy drive to the race track. (Less than half an hour.) We loved gazing out at the swans on the moat, and cows passed by one morning as we were having breakfast. There is a chapel, a walled garden and a small farmyard. Eggs served for breakfast were from the resident chateau chickens. There were also two cats and two dogs on the premises, always a plus for us animal lovers.

I can't say enough good things about our experience - we hope to return next year!

Micol and Marissa are divine hostesses who can do no wrong for ther guests. The Chateau makes you feel as though you are a privileged guest in a beautiful home - complete with a moat!

We have stayed here many, many times, and feel stress draining as we drive along the fantastic entrance driveway.

It is truly relaxing - no tv or radio in the rooms, and dinner is an occasion in the exquisite dining room.

The chapel is delightful - Jane, the nutty dog is also delightful - in fact, the whole place is just.....delightful!

Well worth at least couple of nights to relax and dream of tranquility forever.

The rooms are beautifully appointed and the owners are extremely hospitable and kind. It was a wonderful experience to stay at Vauloge, extremely relaxing and luxurious at the same time. You really escape to a different time.
