Don´t be fooled by the location (next to a main road and the airport) and the slightly down at heel look to the reception/dining area. The rooms are pretty functional and don´t expect any extras, however it´s clean, well maintained and friendly.

We arrived at the height of the volcanic ash choas having travelled across Spain from Malaga. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful, and the rooms (get a twin if you can as the double beds are a bit on the small side, and away from the road is better) very clean, and good showers.

No, it´s not the Ritz, but for what we paid, we were very satisfied with the service.

We are a family with two small children, and booked the Hiblanc for the after-arrival and before-departure stops in Santander in our journey to Asturias. It does perfectly the job. It is located very close to the Airport. We had a GPS so it was easy to find, otherwise I'm not so sure.
Two main factors: the personnel is extremely kind and friendly, and the prices are unbeatable. We paid 40 EUR with breakfast included, and I guess we got more than we paid for. Breakfast is correct, rooms are basic but decently sized, even though they may need some renovation. Don’t expect excitant views, some windows (like ours) look to an internal patio.
It is a 3-min drive to the Valle Real Shopping Centre which includes a big Eroski supermarket. And even closer to a McD, just in case… Having a car is perhaps not mandatory but recommendable. Parking is free and right in front of the hotel. But you can still grab a taxi to and from the airport.
Again, probably not suitable for a long stay, but a top value for money for a stopover. In short: highly recommendable.

We stayed at Hotel Hiblanc for one night following a late flight to Santander. It was easy to find and only 10 minutes from the airport.
It was great value for money at just £20.00/night.
The staff were friendly, the rooms spacious and clean, with en-suite facilities incl. powerful showers.
Rooms at the rear of the hotel are preferable, as those to the front face onto a dual carriageway, so there is traffic noise.
Breakfast was charged extra at 3 Euro (£2.00) and included cereal, toast, cakes, tea, coffee etc, with no limit on how much you could have.
Would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a short stopover, but not for a long stay.
