We returned after seven years to find things largely unchanged: . if we return in another twenty I doubt we would notice much diiference: the same genuine, happy staff from the beaming, proud owner and his delightful wife, from the charming Karine who lent me some cigarettes and the beautiful elfin-like waitress who glides from bar to dining room.
The setting is magical and the atmosphere authentic . The food is classical French with some concessions to modernity. The dining room matches the food and both the menu and the room would sit well in the 19th century. The food while not as stratospherically brilliant as on our first visit, is still excellent.
.An excellent liist with an admirable concentration on regional wines but prices are steep.
The room prices are reasoanble but the cheaper rooms are , whilst charming, are a lttle frayed.
I had an excellent massage in the new spa wing but more thought needs to go into making this a better area..
One could find a few other faults but that would give the wrong impression. This is a real find of s place, a hotel full of character, above all a happy hotel that makes you smile and relax. How much more can one expect from a hotel?
