One of the only hotels still open in Porto in October. We liked the impeccably clean room with separate toilet and bathroom, the beautiful 2nd floor view as well as the staff, who were friendly and helpful all along our stay. We actually found the situation quite convenient, as it was next to good restaurants and provided parking spaces. The road wasn't very busy in October and didn't bother us on the second floor.

The only downside, breakfast was a bit spartan for us who are used to a good cereal start into the day, especially when we go walking. All in all, very enjoyable.

We spent 2 nights at Capo d'Orto heading north after exploring the lower western side of Corsica.
The place is very well kept, quiet with an amazing view to the mountain and golf of Porto. What in Corsica is referred to as 'Mare e Monte', both mountain and sea at hand.
The rooms are spacious (we had booked a 'privilege' category room) with a balcony. Rooms are available for up to 4 persons.

On the downside, maybe
- The decoration in the rooms is a bit basic and not my taste, but very clean and feels recent if not new. Good bedding.
- The service is very limited. One person at reception. You have to go grab your drinks, it won't come to you and are asked to return bottle and glasses to the bar. But the "staff" is very amiable and provided good recommendations for restaurants in the area.
For that reason we did not try breakfast in the hotel (15 euros) , we feared the lack of freshly prepared selection, and we preferred driving the Piana road and have bfast in the (only) restaurant /snack / souvenir shop overlooking a valley.
- We found the place rather pricey. But middle of August in Corsica... demand makes the price. And we felt the location and view made it worth the spending.

The hotel is 15-20 mns walk from the Marina. Better walk then drive this distance if you are already parked.
Other highlights :
- obvioulsy the swimming pool. Rather small and simple , but clean and well kept (comfy long chairs), and for us simply a must after a day sight seeing in the mountains with 40C celsius.
- private parking lots

Restaurants nearby : For having tried them, I recommend Le Sud (by the Marina - great terrasse on the Marina - good food ) and Le Maquis (very close to hotel - great terrasse same view as hotel - very good food, refined cooking - book in advance) .
Much recommended by guides and I regret there was not time to try it : la Tour Genoise , for reasonably priced Corsican cuisine (Marina also).
If you go to Ota (I would not recommend to go there by night - very narrow and curvy road) try 'Chez Marie' or 'Chez Felix' for authentic Corsican food.

We stayed for a week in this lovely family -run hotel, but it wasn't long enough! We never tired of the amazing views of the mountains and sea. A long leisurely breakfast of fresh baked bread and pastries on the terrace each morning, gazing at the mountains and bay, was a fantastic start to the day. Our room was spacious with a logia, very clean and comfortable (and no sign of any mosquitos!) The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. It did not have a restaurant but there was many good ones nearby.
The hotel was situated up the hill from the sea and marina (an enjoyable walk) so was fairly peaceful and quiet and had a pleasant pool with lovely comnfortable furniture for lounging- Ideal after walking in the wonderful surrounding countryside.

A fifteen minute walk from Porto beach this modern hotel is an a wonderful elevated position and takes its name from the stunning view of the Capo d'Ortu peak (must be about 4000 feet to the summit) which stands regally at the back of the bay. Most rooms also have stunning views over the bay of Porto with its tower gracing the frame. There are many hotels in Porto and this is one of the most expensive so you're hoping for a bit of spoiling during your stay. But sadly the hotel is not up to scratch. It's just that bit too penny pinching. Water not quite hot enough for showering, poor or no service at breakfast and instant tasting coffee. the continental breakfast does not stretch to a slice of ham or cheese - just the croissants and bread. No restaurant either in the evening which comes as quite a surprise for a 3 star hotel.
Pleasant sunny swimming pool but the road to Calvi passes by the foot of the hotel so there is some road noise.
