We were a party of four adults who booked two double rooms for one night in mid September. It was difficult to find the hotel but a charming man jumped in our car and showed us the way through the narrow streets. Car parking was limited in height and space, but it was provided in a modern space under the hotel - tricky to manouver in and out but not impossible! The hotel setting is beautiful, lovely furnishings and quirky decor. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and uniquely differently laid out. We did have problems with the two bathing areas provided and the hotel staff apologised for our broken shower, with a broken shower head which had to be held in your hand to use which was disappointing with the 3 star standard expected (plus sink had no plug.....and the water took at least 5 minutes to finally reach a warm temperature).Tthe other room's shower flooded the bathroom each time it was used - so we weren't so lucky with the bathroom arrangments. Finally, the restuarant was shut the night we were there - and in a village with no other eating establishment open and the hotel staff telling us the nearest restuarant was 7 km away...... we were not happy when we then saw the hotel were catering for a private diner for other guests!!! After some negotiation they kindly offered us a meal at the hotel, which when served was done with great aplomb and tasted great, but was not good value for money. Would we go there again? We probably would, if they paid attention to the standard of the practical things guests need - a working restuarant, a bar which is open when guests are there and checking more meticulously the facilities which guests use reguarly (such as the bathroom equipment and cobwebs on the stone walls!).
