Beautiful hotel in an historic chateau. Attractive, large rooms with pleasant staff. Dining was excellent, lovely pool. I would comment that it was a bit on the pretentious side but very pretty, and quite close to Dijon. I would stay again and recommend to friends.

Arrived at the hotel with great expectations due to the price of the deluxe room in the chateau. The outside did not disappoint and the welcome was warm and friendly. Our room was a complete disappointment being large but empty of any 'charm' that had been described on the website. The bathroom was tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. I gave up running a bath as it took too long with the awful water pressure as I needed to run the hot water only in order to get any kind of decent temperature inthe bath. The toilet was stained and in desperate need of replacement and the bed was uncomfortable with a tiny pillow for each of us. We ventured down to the pool area which was also in need of some tender loving care. In order to get a drink by the pool you needed to venture back to the hotel. It almost seemed an afterthought to have a pool as noone seemed particularly interested in looking after this area (but I suppose it helps in maintaining the 4 star rating.
Overall a thoroughly disappointing experience and we did not even stop for breakfast when we discovered what you were entitled to for your 22 euros.
One hotel we will not go back to or recommend to our friends. I think the small luxury hotels of the world should look at this one again (luxury it certainly isn't!)

We arrived full of expectations and looking forward to celebrating a special occasion in France. The meal was excellent but the room was a let down. It was very tired and screaming out for a makeover. The carpet was dirty with stain marks and fraying material on the chair. When we complained we were told there was nothing else available. Suggest the owner spends a weekend at de Vault de Lugny in Avallon and learns about running a quality hotel. Can not understand why this hotel still has a 4 star rating

We have used this place for years, because of the location. Rooms vary in quality. This year they lost one of the bookings. Despite printouts showing we had booked two rooms 6 months ago, they had given away one of our rooms. Mistakes happen. But no-one apologised, the manager was almost rude, they tried to put us in a different hotel away from our group, and then his solution was to put my mother in law in our room! Only when we refused to leave did they give us back the two rooms we had booked. It is beautiful, but expensive, the bar is very poor indeed and shuts early, and the restaurant is disappointing.
