After a long drive and a frustrating time in finding a hotel we drove into the outskirts of Chablis to see the welcome sign to this hotel. Yes there was room available at 96€ or without breakfast 76€, we took the room without checking it, big mistake. The hotel is of the cheap and not very cheerful type. The room was like a sauna so down goes the thermostat and into the dining room for dinner. No other dinners but one couple that came later.
After a a very long wait for dinner of 30 minutes the food came, it had clearly been heated in the micro wave. An unusual meal in that the chicken I had ordered came raw in the middle, so back it is sent to be replaced after some time by the salmon from the menu, this was fine although not helped by the cold veg that came with it.
We skipped breakfast and headed away, what a shame we didn't have a smart phone and we could have found something better on the net and via Tripadvisor.
