Beautiful hotel, with lovely rooms, but lacking "soul". Very little atmosphere. No in-room facilities for tea, coffee etc., and with the restaurant & bar closed on Wednesday evening, those who arrive then, as we did, either have to go into town or use the mini-bar offerings. Very strange that in a 3-star hotel, you cannot get a hot drink on a Wednesday evening.

“Nice but lacks atmosphere”

The hotel is situated just before the sign saying that you are leaving Villers sur Mer as you head towards Cabourg. It looks as if it is an old property but is probably less than 10 years old. They have tried to give it character but it is a little like UK theme pubs with 'bolt on' nostalgia. We had 2 rooms, a standard that had a double bed and a balcony overlooking the garden and a superior, a good sized room that had no balcony but an office/ study area. Everything was very well appointed and good quality. They provided fluffy white towling robes for guests to go down to the swimming pool at the bottom of the hotel. The pool is pleasant, a little spartan and chilly but adequate. The restaurant is shut on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but there are plenty of eateries in town - a short drive away (too far for a comfortable walk). Breakfast (12 euros) is a continental buffet well stocked but no cooked items other than DIY boiled eggs. Overall it is quite luxurious and OK for our overnight stay, it lacked atmosphere and I doubt if we would ever go back.
