This is a lovely country hotel/ spa where one can enjoy a typical Spanish atmosphere. It is off the "beaten tourist path", an alternative to other, more cosmopolitan, hotels in Zafra. The hotel holds the prestigious "Q for Quality" award.
We have been taking short breaks here for the last eight years and have never been disappointed. The hotel is only 10mins. from the centre of Zafra, 1hr.15mins. from Seville, 40mins. from Mérida and 1hr. from Elvas in Portugal, all by great roads. This makes it an ideal place to stay if touring round the region.
It is not a "beauty spa" as such, more a European-style health spa, where you take the waters, have massages, mud baths and swim in the spectacular indoor swimming-pool with Jacuzzi, hydro massage and sauna..........at the same time looking out over the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Of course, one is not obliged to have any spa treatments, although the hotel is connected to the spa for convenience. The food is excellent, we usually take half-board (lunch or dinner), but just bed and breakfast is fine.
This hotel is ideal for couples of any age touring the region, or just wanting a relaxing break. I would not recommend it for families, as the majority of guests are elderly.
If you want to get a "real taste" of Extremadura, this is the place for you!
