The is one of the hospederias de Extremadura. Unlike most of the others it has a very modern design (style Frank Lloyd Wright), mostly concrete and wood. Fits very well in the surroundings of the Parque Natural de Monfrague. Rooms are o.k. But this hotel needs better maintenance! Inside as well as outside. Breakfast was average, diner (menu del dia) was fine. That is important because there are not many alternatives around. The staff is friendly, not many of them speak English. There is a swimming pool. You can park in front of the hotel.
The natural park is marvellous, especially for bird watchers. We took an excursion with a guide, really worth while.

We visited this place a few years ago between X-Mas and the New Year. The hotel was empty, which gave a nice feeling of having the entire hotel four ourselves and a couple of other guests.
We opted for a suite but the first one they showed us had a bad smell and problems with the shower. We visited a second one which was nicer and larger but full of stains on the wall (leakage problems - staff did not want to show us this room as it was in a bad condition but we thought this however was the best suite they had).
The hotel is not well maintained, service was hardly existant and breakfast was ridiculous.
Being a great fan of modern archirecture, I however enjoyed this place : great design, nice collection of items and pieces of furniture displayed in all common areas, Bang & Olufsen large screen TV, huge suite with comfortable seating and large bed, nice bathroom, marvellous terrace with fabulous views and perfect location for Monfrague and many towns around to visit.
With greater care and better service, this would be a gem. Maybe they simply do not have the budget to keep the place in good condition and this is a real shame.

As you drive through the rusty half closed gates, the forbidding, prison like grey walls and weed strewn gardens don't make a good first impression. Built (shoddy finish, blown plaster, leaking walls and window frames)around 10 years ago from local materials and doubtless with loads of EU Funding, the place now needs a thorough update. Grotty bathrooms, no stock in the mini-bars, lights, hair dryers, etc that don't work. At least the terrible quality of roof tiling gives many sparrows nesting space.
the outside terrace restaurant was good and has a fabulous view into the Monfrague, but the restaurants and bars open if and when they feel like it. The breakfast buffet is grim and we were sure it was the same stuff day after day and they have the nerve to charge extra on top of the room for it.
The local village (Torrejon)has several small hotels that offer a much better prospect and there is the Monfrage Restaurant which we think has rooms.
