The hotel is part of a small chain [Hospederias de Extramadura], which are characterised by superb locations, interesting buildings and good service. The views from the rooms of the Parque Nacional de Monfrague are splendid and the service and staff are very friendly and helpful. Whilst the rooms are good, they could do with some refurbishment and better soundproofing. The menu del dia in the restaurant offers reasonable value, though it isn't exceptional for local cuisine, but the a la carte is expensive.

We stayed in this hotel for one night in September 2010, but it was one of the best nights of our holiday.

After a long day riding from Leon, through the spectacular Monfrague National Park, we were thrilled to arrive at our lodgings for the night. The hotel is prettymuch in the middle of nowhere, so we were not sure what to expect.

There is ample parking, so we had no worries about where to leave our motorbike.

For our evening meal we decided to ride to the nearest village. Although they provide food at the hotel, this is quite expensive, and was not really to our taste. The village was extremely quaint, and we quickly found a little establishment that provided us with some yummy rustic local cusine. We were the only people there, except a local family, so we were allowed to just sit outside and watch the world go by whilst eating our meal. Wonderful!

On returning to the hotel, we had a couple of drinks on the terrace. As there are no lights for miles around, the view of the stars was INCREDIBLE! I have never seen so many stars with the naked eye before - it was truly magical. We also had the company of quite a few bats flying around the night sky, which was absolutely fantastic.

Our room was a great size, and was very clean. We had everything that we needed for an overnight stay, but we would have been happy to stay there for longer. A fantastic base for exploring the Monfrague National Park!

The is one of the hospederias de Extremadura. Unlike most of the others it has a very modern design (style Frank Lloyd Wright), mostly concrete and wood. Fits very well in the surroundings of the Parque Natural de Monfrague. Rooms are o.k. But this hotel needs better maintenance! Inside as well as outside. Breakfast was average, diner (menu del dia) was fine. That is important because there are not many alternatives around. The staff is friendly, not many of them speak English. There is a swimming pool. You can park in front of the hotel.
The natural park is marvellous, especially for bird watchers. We took an excursion with a guide, really worth while.

We visited this place a few years ago between X-Mas and the New Year. The hotel was empty, which gave a nice feeling of having the entire hotel four ourselves and a couple of other guests.
We opted for a suite but the first one they showed us had a bad smell and problems with the shower. We visited a second one which was nicer and larger but full of stains on the wall (leakage problems - staff did not want to show us this room as it was in a bad condition but we thought this however was the best suite they had).
The hotel is not well maintained, service was hardly existant and breakfast was ridiculous.
Being a great fan of modern archirecture, I however enjoyed this place : great design, nice collection of items and pieces of furniture displayed in all common areas, Bang & Olufsen large screen TV, huge suite with comfortable seating and large bed, nice bathroom, marvellous terrace with fabulous views and perfect location for Monfrague and many towns around to visit.
With greater care and better service, this would be a gem. Maybe they simply do not have the budget to keep the place in good condition and this is a real shame.
