We booked Hotel Hidalgo as a first night hotel since we were flying into Madrid and heading south. We had intended to stay in Aranjuez, but were not able to find a satisfactory hotel, most likely since we were booking only a short while in advance. Rooms were a bit small, but quite modern and well outfitted in 4-star hotel style. We ate well at a very reasonable price in the hotel restaurant. The bar had some good tapas, but was quite crowded and smokey.. The real problem is that Esquivias is an industrial area with very little nearby. Hotel Hidalgo is OK for a real quick stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way. There are better selections in Aranjuez or Toledo if you book early.
