If one expects to find a spacious hotel with a friendly staff, with good and clean rooms, an excellent breakfast and a good restaurant, go there. This place is perfect to discover the area, especially by car, on foot or by bike. By car one can visit the many bigger and smaller cities in the Emsland area; Lingen is worth a visit. There are maps to guide you to shopping centers, churches, museums, mills, old graves, gardens and parks. By foot one can walk around the lake next to the hotel, to Freren or in the beautiful surrounding landscape where woods and fields can be found. There are trails for Nordic walking. One can rent bikes, even E-bikes, and follow one of the three trails: ranging from 50 tot 60 kilometers. If this is too much; use these trails to make your own route. You may see deers and birds of pray, rabbits, hares and squirrels. You will cycle through a quiete environment with woods, fields and small villages. A real luxery breakfast (from 07.00 on) gives all power that you might need for exploring. No luches there, but food is no problem in this area. In Freren (six kilometers away) one can find the supermarket with the famous German bread, coffee and pastry. Dinner is from 18.00 to 20.00. Wine is rather cheap in Germany. Be prepared to pay around five to six euro for a good wine in the restaurant. Around teatime free coffee, tea and tart or cake are waiting in the lobby. Feel free to put some money in the money-box. One can buy some bracelets, watches, etc. and local drinks. For this, payment in cash.The reception is well-informed, friendly, professional and always ready to give advice.
