We had our 2nd holiday at the Balansat in October and have booked to go back in August so they must be doing something right!!!! we are not easily pleased. This hotel is fantastic for the kids there's a splash pool with slides etc which the kids love and its not too deep so your not feeling edgy theres also a childrens play area with swings and a slide. Its literally a 30 second walk to the lovely cove beach where you can hire pedaloes take a trip on the glass bottom boat or hire a speed boat. The hotel has definatley made improvements to the dining area and the food was fantastic the second time. On our first visit to the Balansat we booked self catering but soon upgraded to All INCLUSIVE at 20 euros for adults and 10 euros for the kids per day I would highly recommend it. We stayed in room 207 which overlooked the pool and above reception, the room was very spacious and clean we really couldn't complain. The staff at this hotel work so hard from early morning until late at night Enrique is a diamond and will go out of his way to help you always smiling Hola Enrique!, The two english guys working in the bar were so friendly and very hard working and Mo well my kids fell in love with her, always something going on for them to do.The entertainment day and night is totally focused on the kids but if there happy then the parents are happy. I wanted to go into Ibiza town on the bus but the kids just didn't want to leave the hotel they made so many friends but Im hoping to get there on my third visit as the bus stops just up the road. There are a couple of shops one attached to the Balansat and a couple just a short stroll away. They sell baby food and nappies so you don't need to overload your case with nappies like I did if travelling with infants. If you are booking this with on the beach or travel republic don't book transfers like we did the first time. We paid £250.00 for transfers. This time we got a taxi from the airport 24 euros and took about 20 minutes. There isn't alot to do in Puerto san Miguel its a very quiet resort but thats why we like it. You can have a walk up to the caves not fantastic but the kids loved it, we went for a walk up the path at the side of the beach got so far (not advisable with a pushchair) then had to turn back but the views were stunning. Theres a sports bar just up the road which shows all the football matches and pool tables etc. There is a car hire place which also does money exchange and a doctors surgery thank god we didn't need it but its good to know its so close if we did. we met many people who have stayed at this hotel more than once so it cant be as bad as some reviews suggest. To sum it up if you want a holiday that you know your kids are safe and entertained a beachfront location and not going to be spending a small fortune with stunning views then this is definatley the place. The Harris Family cant wait to go back in August.
