“Average hotel, could be better, not very confortable”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2010

we went in May for a Violin competition. The hotel is about 2km from town. Has nice views but room windows are really small. Room itself is smal, not very confortable though clean. The hotel was kind of half running: swimming pool was green ad abandoned, around it, a green carpet was all out of place, internet was not working, restaurant choice very limited and it all felt like off season , half closed. Almost now staff apart from owners that were nice and tried there best. The hotel is in the shape of a bullfight arena so you have to go out to get to your room. It was really cold. Public areas were not heated and fireplace was not started so it felt cold everywhere except in the room if you put heating sistem together with air condition to heat on. Breakfast is really poor in terms of choice and quality.

“An enigmatic place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2008

One of the most unusual hotels we have ever visited. It was just at the start of the summer season, and you could understand why it wasn't up and running properly. The big plusses for this hotel are the oustanding location, the quality of the rooms and public areas and the general attitude of the staff, although it might be useful if any of them had a second language. The place was clean and room service was excellent.
The minuses were ones that some guests might find intolerable. Whan we arrived, the swimming pool resembled a sludge pit, with about 1/2 metre of muck and rubbish in the bottom, and very little effort was being made to drain it and fill with clean water. As for dinner, we were told that it started at 8.30pm............at 8.25pm the restaurant was still devoid of staff. Then suddenly waitress and another person arrive and started to take our order. The menu was very limited, only fish and a lot of different ways to cook ham and pork. None of the usual things you associate with Spain, like beef or chicken. The food was ok, but nothing special. They had a good wine selection at reasonable prices, so no complaint with that. However, the worst aspect of staying there was trying to find a way through the town of Mancha Real, about 10km from the hotel. This place is a maze of one-way streets with no signs or directions to Torres, where the hotel actually is. All in all it was a very mixed bag, but the view from the terrace was something very special, and we would probably go again....good value at E43 a night.
