“Overall very happy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

Positives
➢ Gorgeous view
➢ Large bed
➢ Great mattress & nice linens
➢ Nice design, furniture, accessories in both the rooms and the rest of the hotel
➢ Super pressure in the shower
➢ Nice bathroom
➢ Nice soaps, towels etc…
➢ Overall pleasant staff – especially Susanne went out of her way
➢ Sunny terrace
➢ Nice breakfast
➢ Good food and very friendly waiting staff
➢ Good internet reception in the lobby
➢ Perfect temperature system

Negatives
➢ Not the entire staff speaks English however they do their best
➢ Jacuzzi was not working. As this was something that we were looking forward to during our short stay, it was disappointing that neither the outside or inside Jacuzzi were working. Suzanne however lessened our disappointment by showing sympathy for the situation and made up largely by setting up the terrace nicely, bringing us coffee, desert, fruit etc….
➢ Even though the food was good, the portions were pretty small and the menu limited
➢ No tourism info
➢ Internet was not working in the room or patio

“a perfect stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

I'm not sure what was more relaxing: swimming in the Adriatic Sea or chilling out on our room's balcony, enjoying the same view of Recanati's gently rolling hills that Giacomo Leopardi wrote about. What made our stay at Gallery Hotel even better was discovering that the relaxing atmosphere and impeccable service we received during our last vacation was still the same. From the favorite "cafèlatte con poca schiuma" at breakfast that was served even before asking to the useful information where to spend the evening hours, everything proved an exceptional mix of cordiality and sensibility. Our heartfelt thanks to everybody on the staff. It was really a perfect stay and I'm sure it won't be our last at your hotel.

Cordially

“Fabulous!!! We love the Gallery Hotel in Recanati”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

We (myself, my wife and my two daughters - 10 and 12) have stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years for 10 days, whilst my eldest daughter attends a music course in Recanati. We love this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

This year, we decided to stay in the region a little longer and moved to La Fonte in Portonovo for a few days at the beach. However, the hotel at Portonovo was very disappointing -- old fashioned, uncomfortable, empty, expensive, poor service and poor food. After one night, we rang the Gallery Hotel to ask whether they would have us back and so we stayed an extra week there instead. We spent a very relaxing few days sleeping well, enjoying lovely food and wine, taking trips to the beach in Porto Recanati and exploring the town. Thank goodness for the Gallery Hotel!

Here are a few of the many things we like about this hotel:

1. Location. The hotel has stunning views over the Marche region and is located a few minutes walk from the centre of town. We always take rooms with a balcony so that we can enjoy the beautiful view from our room.

2. Staff. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. A great team, led by Stefania, the owner manageress, who is very helpful and seems to manage the hotel very well.

3. Food and wine. The best in Recanati, in our view. The lunch menu offers a range of lighter meals - all cooked to perfection - with good (healthy and tasty) options for the children. The dinner menu is very special, making the most of local produce - great Italian cooking, backed up by an excellent wine list, and delivered with excellent service.

4. Rooms. The rooms are modern, clean, air conditioned and well appointed. We book a double for my wife and I, and a room with two singles for our daughters.

5. Value for money. The room rates are excellent, given the high standard of the hotel.

6. Flexible and accommodating. This year, the hotel introduced the facility to book space at a beach in Porto Recanati, with free transfers to and from the beach (20 mins each way). Though Porto Recanati is very busy, the hotel seem to have found a relatively quiet area with loungers and umbrellas - we enjoyed the beach very much.

Looking forward to our stay next year!

“Romantic and wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

This was the place where we finished our vacation in the Marche district, and with style! We traveled from Senigallia to Numana and around the Conero coast and finally to the mountain village of Recanati. We first thought about staying at Porto Recanati but changed our minds and instead stayed at the mountain village Recanati. Before we decide, we met the wonderful staff who made a perfect tour of the hotel and also gave the history of the village. We booked a deluxe room for the remaining two nights which we have not regret.

The Deluxe room meant, in addition to a nice, comfortable and clean interior also a terrace overlooking the magical landscape, a view which I have never seen. On the terrace was large umbrella, table, chairs and sun bed. The view is so magic that you cannot even imagine. If we wanted, we could also have our breakfast, only for 5 euro’s extra at this terrace. And the breakfast was very good. Fresh bread, fresh fruit salad. European, but with that extra. And the breakfast room also with that fantastic view - no matter whether you take it on your terrace or at the restaurant.
If we didn’t want to nest in the room, there was also a department of the hotel with the same views with a Jacuzzi.

I have traveled a lot, but rarely have I met this kind of friendly staff, awesome fresh room and the view ... Will not mention that anymore . Then, all newly renovated rooms, modern but at the same time preserved the old in the house. The hotel also offers parking garage or in both normal parking space, depending on the room type you booked.

Besides breakfast, I would also mention that the restaurant "has a fantastically high standard and serves the best Tiramisu (" M & M style, ie chefs' style) you can only imagine - well, even with the modern twist. The best open-air café and restaurant the village offers, available at the hotel, which is very convenient!

All in all, taking the car a little inland instead of paying good money for a three star hotel to stay right on the beach. Paying a bit, a little bit extra and to stop at this gem and enjoy all the luxury that the hotel offers; the view, food and excellent service.

I want to give a special thanks to the Manager and her working staff that made this a perfect stay! Very professional and dedicated work.
This is a hotel worth a five star instead of the four!

Thanks for a pleasant stay!
Anna and Fredrik

“Disappointing if you use a booking service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

I generally write positive things about our hotel experiences in Tripadvisor. If something is wrong, I go directly to the hotel and sort it out. That is only fair to the hotel and serves everyone best. Regretably, that did not work at the Gallery Hotel Recanati - and after pre-paying for 5 nights in a suite (not a trivial investment), our story may save others pain (and money).

Our "suite" was on the subbasement floor under the restaurant. Nothing, not even one feature, in the suite description was in that room. It was simply a nice large double with a small shower and a small window. Beautiful view from the small window - but why were we paying for a suite?

Also the promised parking was not available. We immediately talked to the hotel who informed us it was OUR FAULT for booking through tripadvisor and a booking service. If we had booked directly, we would have been treated better and gotten parking as well. HUH? without tripadvisor we wouldn't even have KNOWN about this hotel!

Every morning at 6:15 we were woken up by large heavy trolleys being dragged and tables and chairs being scraped across the restaurant's marble floor. We discussed with the desk. The owner manager was out of town, the sales manager had not time to talk. The desk promised to get back to us. Nothing. Finally was able to talk on the last day to a senior manager, pointed out we would rather sort something out with the hotel, details were taken and a promise was given that someone would contact us immediately because "obviously we can not have these facts published". We've waited two weeks. Nothing.

As a heavy traveler with a high tolerance for "things that happen" and a willingess to always discuss and meet halfway (I would have been satisfied with an email apology and their acknowledging changing the suite descriptions on their web site - I am not looking for a money back deal). I must admit to being extremely dissappointed.

So judge yourself. A hotel with lovely views and bad room descriptions and one "information oversharing" staff member or something infinitely sadder. A shame - it could have been be so lovely. We will not be returning.
