My friends and I stayed in Parma for one night, in order to be on time for a Parmiggiano-Reggiano tour early the next morning. First thing was - accomodation in Parma was quite expensive, so we found this hostel hoping to cut some costs.
The hotel said a bus reaches them from the city centre - they might want to add that the bus does not have service on Sundays. We arrived on Sunday night, and had to go to the hotel by taxi, which added to our costs. 2 of my friends who arrived earlier even had to hitchike.
The room was old and the plugs were broken, which was quite dangerous. Before we checked out, I realized the toothbrush I brough with me was thrown away during room service. o_O They also packed our luggage before we checked out... which shouldn't have happened.
However the front desk was really helpful when we woke up late the next day and had to call 2 taxis (to arrive in 10 mins) to go to the cheese factory. The breakfast was quite nice (warm chocolate croissants!) and quite a lot of choices.
All in all, don't book if you want to be downtown (especially on a Sunday). That being said, the bus actually reached the city centre quite fast, although you do have to buy tickets beforehand in the pub opposite the road.
