Stayed here for two nights in July - we booked a 'junior suite' which consisted of a lounge with sofa bed, separate double bedroom and bathroom with shower.
We arrived at midnight, and one of the family members who run the hotel waited up for us to let us in (it's a small place with no 24 hour receptionist). The room was very nice, clean and characterful with amazing views over the valley. They had not provided a cot which we had asked for, although the next day they found one for us. They also locked up the front doors before I had got all my luggage in, but the keys were on the reception desk so this wasn't really a problem, although a bit inconvenient. The air conditioning was in the lounge area of the suite, which meant that it didn't really cool the bedroom down - and it was over 40 degrees in the day.
Despite these annoyances, we really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant underneath was excellent, and the pool, although small, had amazing views. San Venanzo is tiny and there's not much to do apart from wander about and admire the views, but for a relaxing couple of days this was ideal. Beware the long drive from the A1 - it's a long, steep and typically twisty road as only the Italians can build. It's quicker to the E45 and Perugia though.
