Location is great. The spa unit kept us engaged for our 4 days' visit and was everything but crowded, even right in the midst of the Winter holiday season. Food was mediocre; I was unimpressed when we were billed for regular soft drinks we had with the supposedly inclusive dinner. Wi-fi internet is unreliable, would be greatly frustrating for a business trip.
Lillafured is great for short treks with beautiful scenery, and the nearby city of Miskolc has much to offer in ways of culture.

This hotel is beautiful on the outside as shown in other reviewer's photos, and inside is fairly impressive in the common parts.

The room was somewhat small but perfectly comfortable, and had a very nice furniture and bathroom. It was very clean. We overlooked the back gardens and unfortunately were above the outside smoking area. The room did not have air conditioning, so we wanted the window open overnight and unfortunately there were a lot of people outside smoking and laughing loudly until well after midnight.

I did ask to change rooms the next morning, and while they were willing to do so they assured me that there had been a conference the previous day and said it would be quiet the next night. It was, so that was fine.

We were on a trip staying at three different hotels, and this was our last one. We had come to dread the evening buffets, but this one was a very pleasant surprise. The choice of food was extensive (perhaps 10 different main courses) and very good. Breakfast was the same, and the waiters are very good about clearing the tables quickly and they had separate staff who made sure that the buffet stayed well re-plenished even if you arrived late. They had live music playing both evening and morning - in the morning it was a classical guitarist who was very good.

The drinks were a bit expensive for Hungary, but in light of the quality of the hotel, probably not unreasonable.

But the most special thing about the hotel is their wellness centre - don't miss this. It is one of the best I have ever seen. The least impressive part is a 10 metre pool. But after that they have 2 saunas, a steam room, an infra red sauna (not quite so hot), plunge pools, a hot tub the size of a small pool, another large pool type area which was effectively a jacuzzi (you could fit 25 people in it, although the most there while I was there were 10). Comfortable loungers around so that you could relax for a while too.

I'm travelling in almost every second month, I've been in lot of different places in Hungary and in abroad as well. I have to say, this hotel was one of the best I've ever been. They just rebuilt the spa and wellness centre and it looks amazing!!! There are different pools, saunas, jacuzzis and a salt-chamber. The wellness is very modern, the colour, the materials what they used is just great. I loved the heated bench in the spa. There are some small unique ideas which make the wellness sooo lovely.
The hotel is really romantic, there are huge comfortable armchairs around the fireplace, the food is delecious. I could only highly recommend this place for everyone.

Very nice location.
Breakfast was served with live classical music.
Bad point to the receptionist who forced us to pay in advance at check-in ... at least we could save the tip.
