Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in 2006. The front looked like a building site and the village was less than impressive. We were quoted an amount on enquiring about rates & when we left David and Anne were conveniently away & left poor Thierry to give us the bill which was over the price quoted by about $500.00. As the owners were not available we decided to wait and contact them over the next few days. When we did contact them David said yes there had been a mistake and he would refund the money. This went on for months and months with every excuse under the sun and needless to say we never received the refund. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would say beware of charlatans!!

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau from 28th Sept-01 Oct 2007 which we originally booked after watching the channel 4 documentary "Chaos at the Chateau" which was televised earlier on in the year.We both had the most wonderful time,the Chateau is a beautiful building inside and out and a true credit to Ann and David who have spent so much time and money on the renovation.As soon as you arrive you are made to feel most welcome and it almost feels like home.The rooms are absolutely spotless and each one is individually themed.We wined and dined each evening at the Chateau and ate like King and Queen,we found the 7 course meal to be top quality and excellent value for money.I would say that we felt that we arrived as guests and left as friends so we both look forward to going back very soon.Ann,David and their staff make the Chateau just perfect and i wish them all the best for the future.If you visit Slovakia forget the hustle and bustle of Bratislava and stay in a true representation of the country.Also try a bit of village life and mix with the locals in the pub next door,it`s a great experience!

I had no seen the TV programme only heard other peoples views. The Chateau was beautiful, it has been furnished and finished to a very high standard and the rooms are very comfortable. It is situated in a small village which has some wonderful scenery. The service was second to none and the food , served in the old chapel is exceptional. Very freindly and homely atmosphere. Brataslava is a beautiful city and must be visited and the small town of Piestany is stunning. The chateau has exellent spa treatments and the spa in piestany is a must.
Although there is still some work to be done outside and on the upper floor do not let this cloud your judgement, our party of four had a wonderful time and great fun. We would all recommend a visit to The Chateau and Ann and David were very gracious and attentive hosts, nothing was too much for them.

Just returned from a long weekend breack at the Chateau. there were 4 of us in my party and we found the rooms to be of a good standard and the food was excellent the service was the same nothing was to much trouble for the staff, and the owners too.
would recommend this to anyone had a really great time would go again tomorrow.
