“Not a 3 stars hotel, rather 2”

We stayed at Continental Gaiser in May 2009 for three nights. It is located at approximately 2 km away from the railway station (Timisu de Sus) and 10 km away from Predeal.
We appreciated its location as it is situated far enough from the road so as the traffic and noise did not bother us and thus we enjoyed the "silence" of the woods nearby. The room was very large with balcony but the furniture was old fashioned. Bathroom was also very large but finishings were of poor quality. We could hardly have a shower as water was almost cold as ice. Breakfast was OK but there were very few things among which to choose. Staff was polite and helpful.
It is a hotel good for those who love mountains and trekking and who want to be far from the noise of the city and with not high expectations from accommodation.

“Nice hotel in romantic forest”

We stayed here for one night during our car-roundtrip in Romania.
We had a extremely spacious and clean room which was nicely furnished and had a wooden floor.
We also had dinner at the hotel as it was too late to go out when we arrived. The dinner was ok, although not overwhelming and staff was, well, what can I say, “silent” and “slow”. Others might call it unfriendly or soviet-like.
Breakfast could have been better.
The Gaiser is romantically surrounded by trees in the middle of a forest. It is calm and gives you a good sleep. As we stayed in about 10 different hotels everywhere in Romania, I can say that this was one of the better ones (given a certain price limit) and I would recommend it for a stay.
Nonetheless it is important to know that you definitely need a car to get there.
