I am truly puzzled with the amount of positive reviews about this resort. I went there in summer 2009 with my husband and a 2 year old son, we left the following morning. Here's why:
Cleanliness – we found lots of hair in the bathroom, especially in the shower area; also someone left a T-shirt and a long skirt in the closet of our room – didn't fit any of us!
Standard of rooms – simple, somewhat tarnished, would do with some retouches (wall paint, floor tiles); doesn't bear resemblance to the room shown on pics of the hotel's website
Breakfast – I have never seen such a huge breakfast room so thronged with people, lots of screaming and running kids, this room had no end, my school canteen was nothing compared to that and it was quite huge; the result: no privacy, no comfort, no table to sit at, long queues; some people don't mind this, but we certainly did.
Sea view room on 2nd floor – probably means that your room will overlook a flat metal roof (of the beauty center I guess); the sea was probably somewhere behind it, don't know, the roof was quite long.
Relaxation – from 5am onwards hordes of seagulls were screaming their heads off just outside our bedroom, even with windows and doors closed the sound was unbearable.
The only positive aspect of this hotel was the friendly staff – the check-in was quick, they let us leave on the following morning with no hassle (thank you!); generally, all of them were smiling. I guess that is because they have this efficient staff rating system with „employee of the month” where some voting is required to win – that works.
To sum up: trashy, overcrowded resort that left a very bad impression, but again, some folks like it!
We left for hotel Monte Mulini in Rovinj, a splendid 5 star newly-built facility, and never looked back.
