brilliant, friendly, dog friendly place
rooms are fantastic, food is great and served with a smile
we don't really like going away as we have 4 dogs, but this place makes it feel like u are home....

From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was good staff really friendly..Large open fire in the bar area food excellant and reasonably priced ..breakfast was slso very good a choice of cereals then a full Scottish
Lovely trails nearby ...bus service into Blairgowrie Monday to Saturdays ..

If you are looking for 5 star luxury, then this is not the place for you, but if you want a comfortable, cosy, friendly place to spend a few days in the mountains, then this is definitely the place to stay.

True, the rooms may need a bit of modernising, but they were spotlessly clean and more than adequate for our needs. And really cosy considering the tempertures.

The bar meals were tasty, and served quickly. There was a big group staying in the dorm part of the hotel, but it never felt overcrowded or noisy.

What really made this hotel stand out for us was the service we received, especially regarding our wee Westie. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the hotel, apart from the restaurant, which was great as it meant we could have her beside us all evening.

In the morning we were just going to put her in the car while we had breakfast, but the chef met us and said he would bring a full English into the bar area for us so we didn't have to leave her. He even brought the dog a sausage for her breakfast.

The area this hotel is in is just stunning, and our stay was very good value for money. We will definitely be coming back here.

We stayed here for one night while doing some hillwalking in the Glenshee area. The staff were friendly and very relaxed. The food was amazing. The atmosphere in the bar was fantastic and the roaring fire was just spot on. The breakfast the following morning was cooked specially for us as the hotel was quite quiet, and was exactly what we needed to get us up the next hill!

It's not five star and is more like a mountain lodge than a hotel. We had two rooms and our was much nicer in decor than the other room. But if you're looking for a good meal, a warm shower and a comfy bed at the end of a tough day on the hills, you really can't go wrong here. The price is just fantastic too. I'm already looking for dates to go back for another weekend there!!
