We arrived on the sleeper for a 5 day stay and were warmly welcomed by Rob and Liz . We particularly enjoyed the food , comfortable bedroom and public rooms and good service . Rob and Liz ( proprietors ) could not have done more for us and altogether it was a great experience

I would like to be able to review the dinner at this hotel but after driving 22 miles to this hotel for evening dinner booked online we were greeted by a locked door. After knocking the landlord opened it and, on being given our name, told us that our booking had been for 7.00 rather than 7.30 and that he would not be able to accommodate us. Unfortunately I have not yet been able to check the reservation time but, no matter who was correct, I cannot believe that we were not invited in, offered a drink and maybe some soup and cheese and biscuits even if a meal was beyond his capabilities. This is an incredibly isolated area with no other dining facilities available. I found him rude and discourteous . We have visited this hotel a number of times over the last 40 years but this time will very difinitely be the last. What a recommendation for Scottish hospitality.

My husband and I had intended travelling to Carrour on the train from Rannoch Station. We missed it by a matter of minutes but having set out from home elsewhere in Perthshire very early, we thought we would at least have a comfort stop and coffee at the Moor of Rannoch Hotel. We could see people in the conservatory munching away at breakfast. We went to the door which did not open. We rang the bell and waited and a lady with a duster in her hand opened it and looked inquiringly at us. We asked politely if we could come in and have a coffee. She said, smiling (rather ironic): "We don't open through the day at all". And shut the door. We were speechless and set off again rather dejectedly. Over the course of the day, however, we laughed and laughed about it. This remote hotel must be coining it in, that it can turn away custom. Good for them!

Four of us stayed here on a train trip around Scotland, we could not have picked a better loctaion for our first night of the trip. It was lovely sitting relaxing by a nice open fire, having eatan a well cooked and delicious meal and enjoying a drink. We were very well looked after in this beautiful spot.
