“Fantastic place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We stayed here on a Saturday night in December 2011 as we were attending a wedding nearby. The entire place is spotlessly clean and decorated to a modern yet homely style, and to a very high standard throughout. Other reviewers have mentioned the wonderful scenery including the duck pond, all of which is very accurate.
Our bed was very comfortable, our bedroom and en suite great, and Caroline & James treated us really well. Our breakfast was also fantastic cooked to perfection and with very good quality ingredients.
We would definately return if ever in this area again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend you book The Eiders!

“Fantastic!”

Myself and my husband booked The Eiders at short notice for an anniversary stay. Despite the short notice, Caroline still went out of her way to leave a card and chocolates with heart sprinkles on our bed, we were so touched!
The owners attention to detail is faultless, hair dryers, torches, digital radio and digital tv, tea and coffee-making facilities and a fridge in the room! There is plenty of milk and tea bags etc supplied. Our room was lovely. Light and airy but cost at the same time with a fabulous view of the ducks from our terrace. Breakfast was fantastic and you are left wanting for nothing. Caroline was so friendly and helpful and recommended some eateries. We ate at the roman camp inn, a 2 minute walk away. (The food there was also great.)
The Eiders deserves all of its stars and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Best b&b I've ever stayed in, we'll definitely be returning

“Thoughtful hosts!”

We late booked at this B & B and we fell on our feet. We were greeted with tea and cake on the decking by the infamous ducks which was a fantastic start.

The breakfast's were great, and when Caroline found out about my partner's food intolerances (the request for soya milk was the give away), she provided "free from" cakes & herbal teas in the room on our 2nd day. How thoughtful.

Nice room which was tastefully decorated (no chintz!!!). Have recommended to everyone we know. Thanks Caroline for making our weekend special!

“We loved it before and went back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

This was the second time we have been and it is still fantastic. We stayed for 3 nights and spent many hours round the pool which was sheltered from the northerly winds which had kept us off the beach. As before the breakfast & rooms were all perfect. However the main plus point is Caroline and James, their friendliness and attitude are second to none, it seems nothing is too much trouble and for us this really makes the difference between a good B&B and and excellent one.
I certainly would have no problems going back again.
