Because it's a 4 stars and was so cheap, we gave it a go. It is in a very forgettable area, very distant from Milano. The lobby was, like the rest of the hotel, dated and dirty. A piano was there for decoration, a tape-a-l'oeil ornament which was only accentuating the 'wrongness' of the place. Upon entering the room, my habit is to go straight to the bed where I have no shame in lifting all the bed sheets tpo reveal the state of the mattress. In this instance, only one word: repulsive, stained beyond redemption, ancient. The room was small and old looking, without any redeeming feature. I went back downstairs to go to the car. A couple, looking tired as well as upset, were obviously complaining with all their luggage, coming back from their room, on their way out. I was too washed out to do the same, but I will never submit my family or myself to another night in there. The staff were helpful and goodwilling, the free garage by the hotel with a locked gate. The air conditionning system was miraculously working in spite of a junky appearance. This hotel deserves only 1 star, and not a shiny one.
