“Charles and Charlotte`s Holiday”

We spent six nights in the Liver View Hotel. It is less than 100 metres from the Seacombe ferry terminus - and what nicer way to get to and from Liverpool than using the ferry?

We were greeted by the charming owner, Dave, who was getting engaged, he hoped, that evening, and so, concerned that we might be disturbed by the noise, invited us to join him and the family. We did on returning from our meal in Liverpool, and were made to feel at home immediately.

The room was large, well furnished, spotlessly clean, the bed wonderfully comfortable and the shower room good and also clean. The daily clean was good and value for money was superb. The breakfast was excellent.

Dave is gradually reworking the hotel and improving it and I am sure after our next visits we will be able to add the fifth dot to our review.

Even late at night, access from Liverpool is excellent. A bus from central Liverpool takes you under the river to Hamilton Square and a £3 or £4 taxi fare gets you back from there in 5 minutes. Set this against the cost of Liverpool hotels and you realise that one meal a day is paid for. And the view is all you could hope for.

More next time we stay.

Dave and his team are doing a great job with this hotel - we really felt that Dave was passsionate about 'getting it right' and nothing was too much trouble..even staying up to let us in the secure car park after we got lost on our way back to the hotel from a family party! Rooms were nicely decorated and very clean plus the bed/ matress comfort was exceptional!!
Everyone staying at the Liver View seemed happy and content and their was a good overall atmosphere about the place...which says a lot!
Breakfast was lovely...set us up very nicely for the long journey home to the North East.
We will definitely be staying here again and recommend this hotel without hesitation.

“Nice place with a G-R-E-A-T view to Liverpool”

We only stayed one night at this hotel. The way it is called ("Liver View") is very well justified since you get an amazing view of the river and Liverpool. The room was big and clean. The price was very good and included breakfast. I liked the localization although we lost a considerable amount of time to get to Liverpool by bus. However, you can go by ferry boat (the ferry terminal is 2 minutes away from the hotel and the journey to Liverpool takes 10 minutes) if its schedule fits your plans. The hotel staff was very kind. Overall, I recommend this hotel although you should notice that you are a bit far from the center of the city of Liverpool.

I cannot dredge up anything positive to say about this place at all. It was so bad we refused to stay, losing our deposit in the process but it was worth it. The 'car park' is little more than waste ground behind the building. The standard of decor is very poor. The carpet downstairs and on the stairs was badly stained. No lift, so we had to haul our heavy cases up loads of stairs. 'Reception' is a tatty cubby-hole. The decor throughout smacks of amateur in a hurry. One of our rooms was tiny, the other looked like it had last been occupied in the sixties judging by the decor and furniture. There was a hole in the ceiling, a hole in the door, we were told the bathroom couldn't be used (so our en-suite room became non en-suite), an electrical socket by the bed was visibly loose. The bedspreads were candlewick and the towels looked like something my gran would have sent to a charity shop.
No kidding, I'd have slept in the car rather than stay here. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute booking over in Liverpool and got 2 fantastic rooms for only another £10 per night.

Room Tip: use another hotel
