This hotel is unlike ordinary hotels as it is part of a sports complex.
I stayed overnight (last night) en route from Melton Mowbray to Brightlingsea and my observations are not disimilar from the others posted here.
The room and ensuite bathroom was of a very high standard indeed and sparklingly clean everywhere. My room had two single beds and the bed was comfortable.
The room temperature was set at a constant and comfortable 21.5c which is just right for me.
If you are arriving by car and using a satnav please note that the postcode is useless and misleading as another writer has commented. The rest of the address is largely unhelpful and I recommend the following:-
Enter the "City" as "Earls Colne"
Then for the street enter "Coggeshall Road" - there is no house number.
This will put you in the nearest road to the hotel so that you can drive the length (about 0.5 mile) of this road and at some point you will not be able to miss the well signposted entrance to the hotel grounds. Proceed through the entrance for about 0.25 mile until you arrive in the main car park by the hotel.
One other thing, I could not get the wifi to work on my laptop, tablet or phone despite several efforts. It may just have been inadequate signal in my room - 28 so I just had to use my mobile hotspot which was fast enough for normal use.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the car park was spacious and felt safe (from risk of break-in or dinging - generous width spaces).
The winter rate of £42 was incredibly good value compared with a typical Travelodge at about £30-£35.
Highly recommended.
Room Tip: Apparently, avoid the car park side due to parking noise etc.
